HI All - a little late to this thread, but . . .. . . the manual recommends removing the rear brake dust covers to improve brake cooling. Is there any downside to that (aside from, I assume, dirtier wheels)?
Excellent question - but while I saved the letter (maybe to plead with my dealer with), I tossed the envelope as soon as it was opened.I get that it's probably hard to forecast demand for something like this and I shouldn't be upset with Ford for being caught out by unexpected demand -...
My invitation arrived in the mail today. Went to the website to register and got this:"The GT350 North American Track Tour owner sessions and wait lists are full.
Check back this Fall for future events in 2016!"Frankly, Ford, I'd rather not be invited, than be invited and then "uninvited"...
Hi all - I'll start with replacing the brake fluid, and then go from there. Stay tuned for an update. Thanks for your suggestions. Much more insightful than, say, the dealer, who, to be fair, has their hands full with more run-of-the-mill problems.
Hi again all,My Boss is at 2,500 miles now, with a significant portion of that on the track. I'm on to my second set of brake pads (OEM) and tires (definitely not OEM). The car was stored over the winter (heated garage, regular tire rotation, etc.) just after the new pads and tires were...
Hi all - I'd like to tap into your collective wisdom for help with this question:Where's the best place on a Boss to put three of the extra-small (2") TrackDecals track outlines? They arrived - yay! - and now it's time to place them . . . but I'm wrestling with where they should go.My first...
HI all, and happy Thanksgivivukkah . . .I am thinking about building a new garage and just realized I need to worry about the angle of the ramp/driveway for the Boss as there's a bit of a grade coming off the alley. My truck won't care, but I'd sure hate to build it and find out later that...
Having left my car in normal mode, and having then come in from 5 very quick laps with smoke pouring off the rear pads - did leaving the Advance Trac on cause that? Was the car constantly applying brake to the outside rear corners? Or was it just that the rear brakes on the Boss are a little...
I just replaced my Pirelli's with Pilot Super Sports. Do a quick search and you'll find lots of reviews on the tires. The Super Sports consistently rate extremely highly. They are like magic - better grip, better handling, at a better price. Of course it's not magic, but Michelin's racing...
HI All,An interesting question came up at the track today, and I didn't know the answer. (A quick search of the boards didn't turn up answer but I'll apologize in advance if I'm dredging up an old topic.)Was the Boss 302 profitable for Ford? Not from any "halo" effect the Boss may have had...
Why a new (or new-ish) Boss versus a used 'Vette? There are lots of reasons why I chose the Boss, but here's one clear difference: warranty. My Boss has been a champ in terms of reliability (5 track days so far this year), but it's nice knowing that if the engine were to grenade at 7500 rpm...
Great! What's the name of your dealer? TireRack and everyone else have them backordered. Sounds like your dealer had them in stock. Maybe they've got another set.
Thanks - interesting idea going to wider rear wheels, although that starts to get expensive adding wheels to the equation. As the Michelin Pilot Super Sports aren't available, it seems like the next best alternatives are the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position , or the Michelin PS2s...
