SHappy Thanksgiving all! IMHO, if you are a cheap SOB like me, QStarz and Dashware is the way to go. Better stuff out there if you don't mind shelling out $$$$.

Getting stats on how your oil is doing is certainly valuable, but more importantly a lab analysis tells you how your ENGINE is doing. If you have something going on like rod bearing wear or coolant in the oil it will give you an early warning on the problem. I get a periodic lab test on all my...
The front dust boots on my Porsche also get cooked and never had a problem because of that. I've had the calipers rebuilt on that car a couple of times and the boots are usually toasted after a couple of track weekends.
Congrats...great time! I used to drag race back in the 60's with my 65 Olds 442 (4 speed, high 12's) and 67 Dodge Coronet 383 (auto, low 14s) but I'm now a road course guy since buying my first Porsche in 1983. There is a very nice 1/4 mile track 25 minutes from my house so I may just have try...
EDIT......Nevermind. Found your thread about them. Thank you. Please explain these brake shims you are referring to. I know what they are but why to you need them? First I am hearing of this mod. Any link to what you used?Thank you.
Rene'I'm pretty sure they really work. Sure enough...

Re: Oil change intervals for tracked cars? Lab results!Looks like Motorcraft 5W50 held up nicely after 8 track days and 1500 road miles. Lab says I could probably go a couple more track days before a change but I don't think I'll push it that far. However, it's good to know it seems to...
Easy: while on track clutch pedal went to floor and stayed there. I was able to get the car into 4th by rev matching in neutral and made it back to the pits. By that time the clutch was partially functional and I was able to come to a stop without stalling but the pedal had tons of free play...
Same guy in the early 911 that locked in front of me up at Oak Tree. Great driver, nicely prepped car, weighs in around 1980 lbs! Only a 2.4 L six but not a lot of weight to haul around.
Re: #$@*&%! Clutch! - FIXED!!!Problem was leaking slave cylinder as suspected. However, I also asked them look into P0300 and P0420 codes I was getting. They found a partially MELTED cat on driver's side! Anybody melt a cat before? Glad the $1420 bill was covered under warranty!
I love the wheels...they work great with 305x35 R888s in the back and 275x40 in the front...I'm sure they would really rock with Nittos or Hoosiers. Only problem I have found is I cannot keep front wheel weights on. After losing them the first time, the shop rebalanced them at no charge. I...
