I obliterated a brand new set of front R-spec (98Y) cup 2s at NCM in April. I was carrying far too much speed into 2 or 3 specific corners and had not heat cycled and let them rest a day before said abuse. I was understeering badly and the tires did their best to compensate for my bad technique...
Reviving this thread and hijacking it a bit.
I am signed up with NASA at Road Atlanta on December 3-4/2022. I currently have MPSC2 and Falken RT660 rubber. From experience and web searching I know and see that north GA temps can vary widely in November/December, from 32-70 deg F. For those who...
RNR Tire Express
4512 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KYThey are a custom wheel shop. They have a touchless mounting unit and care about what they do. 2 sets of tires have been replaced and counting. Plus, when tires are sent from Tire Rack, it costs $25/tire to change, which is just under half the...

Pitt Race: 2:02.43
A Great weekend at Pitt Race. This was my first time learning a track without an instructor in the right seat, which was a cool experience and affirmed that I did get some "E" from the HPDE instruction of days past and reading Speed Secrets. I have a lot of room to improve...
I will second @TMSBOSS that going between stock and square is quick and easy (assuming you have the studs needed to fit the offset in the front). I use Apex SM-10 in 19x11 in ET52 offset. I also have a pair of Apex 25mm spacers in the front for these wheels. I do not rotate wheels between...

@Vettel-ish, Do you have a top speed for that magnet run? It looks like a banked track, so I am guessing pretty fast. I don't get over 145 at Mid-Ohio, so depending on how well this removable vinyl holds up. I will look at the magnet. I am trying to find the proper Guardsman Blue color...
Interesting idea. The BB/spacer inside idea might work, but I am not keen on the idea. I would rather not “rig” this setup on a virtually new and otherwise stock car.
Perhaps I was not clear in my explanation of what I am experiencing. My issue is not that the stud is too far out and the threads are dirty. My issue is the ball never touches the bottom of the threaded hole in the knuckle. The install instructions say the ball of the stud should touch the...
So, how does one proceed if the stud never reaches the bottom of the knuckle, making a 5 lb-ft torque impossible? Neither top nor bottom holes prevent the stud from bottoming to the shoulder without force. At 1/8" spacing, the stud turns freely.
I am about to replace my original and finally worn-out pads with some G-Loc pads for NCM next weekend and FINALLY get around to installing my stainless Caliperfexion studs while the caliper is free. I have read the instructions several times for "fear" of screwing this up and honed in on the...
So you have used the removable vinyl at speeds over 140 and they stay on? Or did you tape the leading edge? I have been back and forth on magnets and removable vinyl for a while and want a set before NCM on 4/23-24. I want a nice white circle with classic/vintage styled numbers possibly in...
