Update on my transmission. Ford Warranty replaced the reverse idler gear, shaft, seal, and synchros 1-3. I've driven it home only, with 2 spirited shifts, but not a full speed shift. Seems to work fine. I also bought a MGW Shifter, which is in the trunk, I'm waiting to see if the stock...
I started out thinking I just don't know how to operate this "new" 6 speed shifter. I grew up with the top loader, and never missed a shift. I have two other top loaders at present. I've missed more shifts in the last month, than I have in my entire life. I'm just learning how to drag race...
I'm the latest addition to this problem. 800 mi on the car, and under hard shifting (drag racing) I'm getting locked-out 2-3. When this happens I can't get it into 1st, or 5th either. I added the Whiteline Tranny mount stiffener, and if anything, it has made things worse. Shifter is really...
I'm struggling to do better than 2.0 for 60 times, and I have M/T ET Street II's! I've been as high as 3600 rpm and as low as 1800 for launch, and from 20-17 psi in the rear tires. I've had the shocks at both 3 front, 1 rear, and 1 rear 1 front. TC always off. Car is bone stock otherwise...
"bigger is better"Kook's Tech Support disagrees, ...for a stock engine. They said unless you are building the engine up, you lose bottom end when the primary tubes are too big. They recommended no larger than 1 7/8 for a stock Boss 302 engine, and he went onto say that would include...
Does anybody have any insight on the 2" Kooks LT Headers? Any dyno numbers? Unsure which way I'll go (1 7/8 vs 2"), ARH, Hooker, Ford Racing, Kooks? are they mostly the same in terms of dyno numbers?I don't need CATS, to be street legal here, so I'll delete them.
I have a second set of rims, to be fitted with drag radials. I wasn't going to bother with the TPMS, as they'll be low on air pressure as a rule. My question is whether that could affect launch control, traction control, or any of the other electronic aides to the rear wheels?
51Coolest CarsRoad & Track's March Cover story is "The 51 Coolest Cars of the last 50 years", and the new Boss is one of them, amongst some very impressive company. Sorry, no Camaro's…teehee!
This advice matches my experience as my best run at 9.1 was before I changed any tire pressure, so 32 psi. When I reduced it to 28-26-24, I had more wheel spin not less. I had to turn TC back on to have any sort of second gear. Regardless, it's new tires for me. I shouldn't be slower than a...
