I have a ducted setup with a setrab 960 oil cooler in a manual trans S550 and I think its too much oil cooler. If the outside temp is below 65 I cant get the oil to 220 on a real temp gauge. The car thinks its above 265 but that is due to the algorithm it uses to determine oil temp. If I had...
Not much accomplished this past week end. I have discovered that there is a lot more wiring and electronic gizmos in this, than the older stuff I have worked on in the past.I need to come up with a plan to locate the door release handles into the bare door somehow and figure out what to...
My sister dated a guy that raced a vintage racecar series. He paid someone to haul his car and be the mechanic / pit crew for the weekend. He would just fly in uber to hotel and his guy would pick him up there. For someone with plenty of disposal money it seams like the way to go.
Well I have decided to move forward with the removal of the interior and install a full cage. I ordered one from Trackspec. I currently have a Watson 4 point roll bar and kept full interior to meet SCCA street car restrictions, but the past few years I have been doing TT events with NASA. To...
I did this one and I love it.http://www.midwestracecabinets.com/store/p226/Complete_Infloor_winch_kit_5500lb_powersport_winch_synthetic_rope_and_wireless_remote%21.html
I have been using the ATX20HD for a year, with 10 weekends at the track and zero issues. I use a trickle charger recommended by antigravity between track events but have never had to jump it at the track, even if we do back to back sessions.
Thanks for you showing me your sheet. I think even if the average HP is only a few HP it will probably be worth taking the advantage. I will see if I can get someone to dyno it this time that knows what NASA is looking for. The shop I used is the most well known in my area but not for road...
Our TT director said just use max HP, but that was when I was new to TT and was more worried about not breaking any rules and just trying to learn the game. I do need to find a shop that knows how to do the average HP if it will lower the HP I have to declare on the class form.
RodS197, I am reasonably close to the 1st place times, and all but neck and neck with the 2nd place times at most events. Every few events we have a few people come over from ST-2 and ST3 wheel to wheel to grab a set of free tires and usually they are the fastest by a few seconds. I ended up...
I will have to look back at the car class form but I believe I would have to gain weight or drop HP to run the 315 RT660. If I remember right the reason the 275 rt660 was ok was there was a +.3 factor since it was a narrow tire. I ran some of the events on a Kumo V730 in a 305 size at more...
Yes on Tracks. CMP, Roebling road, Road Atlanta, and new for 2024 is NOLA, and Watkins Glenn. I am running the 295 toyo on a 19" x 11" wheel, as this was the only size for a 19" wheel and the cost at $299 each made it attractive . The PR , I mentioned on the RT660 was on a 275 on a 10" wheel...
I have tried the RT660's and in fact my PR at CMP was on a set of those but, for me they drop off fast. They only give me a few sessions at that speed. I switched to RR's since I could drop so much weight and still be on a reasonable tire but was never in the hunt for the contingency money...
