  1. Trailer Parking En Route to/from a Track Day

Find a nice local campground. Should have plenty of space, office staff, and be generally safer than Walmart (although most Walmart's probably have cameras covering everything now). They might even give you discount if you tell them you only want parking. Also, most "storage" places usually...
  2. Freeplay in stock S197 GT brake pedal

The one I made starts with the stock "booster rod". It has to be threaded, and doing it "manually" by eye, there is no guarantee threads are completely inline with the rod itself. Mine came out pretty straight, but still a crapshoot. The rest of it is easy, by cutting and grinding a high...
  3. Huge brake upgrade for S197 chassis

Thanks!! I did tons of bleeds, everything from bench to ABS (with Autel scan tool). I even went so far as to use an old AC vac pump hooked up to top of MC resvr (like many auto factories do it, so I'm told). May give the whole thing a shot in the spring again, still have all the parts...
  4. Huge brake upgrade for S197 chassis

It bolts right up, but I did have to use gasket material between master and booster. Neither O-ring, or even both, worked for me. WiIl be cool to see how someone else attacked it.
  5. Huge brake upgrade for S197 chassis

I did it a while ago, but could not get brakes bled, and ended up going back to stock master.https://trackmustangsonline.com/threads/s550-pp-master-on-s197.14230/#post-259787I still may go back and try it again, seeing someone else now have success. What did you do with the rubber disk...
  6. Project Super Trailer

Yes, they are E rated also.I personally couldn't care less how many plies a trailer tire has. That Maxxis wasn't even speed rated for the jersey highway speed limit.https://www.discounttiredirect.com/buy-tires/maxxis-tire-m8008-plus-st-radial/p/104015 SPEED RATING: UP TO 62 MPH
  7. Project Super Trailer

I had Maxxis Load range E (rated 2830 lb each, for 8300 lb trailer) before these LT's.And Goodyear Marathons before those (Load range D, @ 2540 lb rating each). 3 of those went over about a 3 year period, one virtually brand new, entire tread came off like it was a retread (made in USA, too).
  8. Project Super Trailer

Got tired of the lack of quality in pretty much every trailer tire I've ever owned. Switched to 16" LT's, not one issue since (and LT's typically speed rated to at least 106). This is the tire I currently use on my deck over, for the offroad toys. I also like that the rating is for even a...
  9. 2026 kill switch mandate

Good news so far on the modem(s) at least, it is typically on it's own dedicated fuse. (even on the 5G in my new F250)https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/4g-modem-disabling-instructions.146860/
  10. 2026 kill switch mandate

My 23 F250 tow rig has a 5G modem. Find it hard to believe Ford at least, could not tap in now and shut it down today if desired.I don't see how the "impairment" thing is going to work for on track (or worse yet, offroad) driving, especially with a helmet. Might have to have GPS "activated"...
  11. Buy EVs or we will kill you

Someone needs to explain to me why E15 and/or "winter" blends, are STILL OK, now that the gas price crisis is supposedly "over". It certainly helps kill ICE mileage, which doesn't hurt when you are pushing an EV agenda?https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/12/business/economy/biden-ethanol-gas.html...
  12. Sway bar for Fast Road Car

On street only cars, I'm a big bar, soft shock/spring guy and here is why. Getting to "the absolute limit" is many time double or even triple the posted curve speed limit on the street. So do I care if I understeer/oversteer or whatever, at that limit, since I have to be driving like "maniac"...
  13. Need a new motor...please point me in the best path

It's really that hard to assemble a coyote when the short block is already done? Another reason I would go godzilla if I ever blow mine up, I guess.
  14. Part number for Auto brake reservoir

Think this is it, get master and booster spare parts for free too...
  15. Huge brake upgrade for S197 chassis

On my 14, disconnecting MC reservoir level sensor also disabled traction control (and probably ABS, don't recall). Another thing to check, if an 08 has that.
