  1. Car down on power and misfire, rough idle, mostly in closed loop mode(warmed up)

Even if you go breathers and no vacuum ports from the CV to intake tract you will STILL get oil burning off in the engine if you compression brake. The very high vacuum in the manifold from using the engine to slow down will pull oil past the valve stem seals and into the intake runners.

I've been recommending the F150 EcoBoost PCV for along with not compression braking unless on the race track for these oiling issues. If you remove the stock PCV you will find there is no baffle under the unit in the valve cover like older 4v's and the valve train will spray oil right into the...
  3. AFR ratios, whats too lean.

Octane boost is not a replacement for Race Gas. Octane boost does not actually raise the octane of the fuel, it raises the RVP (vaporizing point) of the fuel to make it less prone to detonation with higher temperatures / cylinder pressures.IMO the Track Key tune should be run with Straight...

Do you have access to E85 or E98? E85 would be an ideal fuel for the Road course, and if can't get E85 but can order 54gal barrels of E98 you can mix your own to 15% gasoline and 85% Ethanol.
  5. AFR ratios, whats too lean.

Probably the safest tune you could be running with your setup like this would be the stock tune as it has a few key features that have likely saved your engine from blowing itself apart on the race track: 1. Aggressive fueling enrichment based on exhaust temperature. Even though you are...
  6. AFR ratios, whats too lean.

Clearing the codes does not 'fix' the problem, and the ECU will still ignore the O2 data until it sees they are working properly via the test the ECU does to check the O2's and make sure they are functioning correctly. IE, you were racing the the road course with NO O2 correction and running...
  7. AFR ratios, whats too lean.

When the ECU detects O2 faults it ignores O2 input at WOT. A good reason to never race a vehicle when there are O2 fault codes.

Below is a screen shot of one of the 5 Wide Open Throttle logs you sent me. All 5 logs showed the same issues. In this shot you can see the measured air fuel traces for Bank 1 and Bank 2. Lambse commanded is .847, measured on Bank 1 is .879 and Bank 2 is .986. Both banks are lean, bank 2 (if...

No worries Justin. I've not had a great week either and a bit touchy. I can make the tune adjustment without logs and see if it cures the problem, but I do no have your email address on file, so send me an email and I will send back an updated tune for you to test. [email protected]

Thanks for the update Robert.Effectively no real correlation to the Compression brake update (TiVCT based) vs the spark retard then. That supports the data in the tune as well. Spark tables associated with the change are a little higher for low load RPM (decel condition) vs the...

Your last email on the subject is dated March 3rd. I said I have not received an email since my response to you in THIS thread stating that there may be a way we can minimize the popping via tune update. As I explained before the popping on decel IS normal with my tunes and I receive emails...

I am not too big for my customers. (Obviously, as I am responding on a Sunday Morning at 8am) Although I am very use to everyone blaming the tune, that is NOT the case here. I can Guaranty (I'll put $400 on it) you swap back to 100% Factory Stock exhaust and you will have NO 'machine gun'...
  13. Compression braking added to AED Boss Tunes:

These ECU's work a little different than previous Fords. They are Torque based and use 'Torque Based Decel'. IE, you program the torque to be used on Decel and the ECU closes the Throttle to achieve the Torque (or negative torque) on decel. If it has determined that it's not enough, it retards...

Yes, this can be added to the GT calibrations as well. Likely the V6, but I do not tune V6's over email. I'm a Coyote/Roadrunner tuner.FYI, some have the changes already in their Performance tunes as I implemented the change a few months ago, but was awaiting feedback from those customers...

Perfect! Email me requesting a Road Course specific tune and I will set it up / send it back to you. Make sure to include your full name and vehicle in the body of the email. I keep all customers in files listed by vehicle year/transmission, then first/last name.
