My S197 Got crushed by a trio of M3's on trackday at Waterford Hills MI

@twistedneck, Switch up to more aggressive 305s on 11" wide wheels, it will make a world of difference even on a stockish suspension. I just have adjustable Konis, Eibachs, and softer than stock rear sway bar. My best time at Grattan, the shocks were in their softest setting. Grattan PB: 1:23.9...

Thanks Kevo_lo! Yeah definitely a high level summary but I figured if anyone was interested in doing some of this work they can reach out here with any questions I’d do my best to answer them. Cheers!

Hi all, I often get the question of "how did you build your splitter and how can I build my own composite parts?" By creating a prototype buck and pulling molds to layup fiberglass or carbon fiber parts anything is possible. It's difficult to express in words but the truth is, it is a relatively...

Brake shudder caused by electric steering rack in 2011 GT?

Just a follow-up, the Boss R EPAS completely solved the issues I was experiencing regarding steering "jutter". The symptoms were present on the track since I bought the car back in 2014, but I had wrongly diagnosed it as poorly bedded brakes. After installing the Boss R control arms, it became...

very true. A friend of mine wanted to get involved in HPDE so I told him to buy a C5 (sorry, not sorry lol) He picked up a 04 Z06 with 20k miles for $22K. May be higher than average used C5 price but it looks as though it just rolled off the showroom floor. Best performance per dollar out there.

Cortex Floating Axle and Rear Brakes

As mentioned above, a fixed caliper will not work on a stock axle. I have measured 3/16" displacement of the rotor due to axle shaft flex. I know this because my rotor has "clearanced" it's self into my caliper bracket. Larger diameter rotors just exacerbate the issue. This amount of flex would...

Brake shudder caused by electric steering rack in 2011 GT?

I have a 2011 with shudder symptoms that appeared at the track for years. I had always thought the brakes were to blame. I recently installed Boss R front lower control arms with delrin bushings and now the EPAS goes nuts on the freeway. I’ve come to realize it was likely the EPAS the entire...

    Will they fit- Apex EC7 18 x 11 wheels?

If you are referring to 305/680/18 Continentals, they will rub slightly front and back on tracks with lots of compression. These Continentals are much wider than Pirelli and Michelins of the same size. I have APEX 18x11 et52 with 20mm spacers. Just barely clearing the strut in front, it rubbed...
