Hi all, I'm working on my T56 Magnum XL swap in my 2011 Mustang GT HPDE car and am a bit unsure how to proceed, wiring-wise. The swap came with a few pigtails but I decided to go ahead and obtain a Bowler All-in-One harness and installing that is my next step. My questions amount to how to...
Thanks very much. Well I had a couple calls with Joe Diederich and placed an order earlier this week - what a nice and knowledgeable guy. Interesting to hear your thoughts/experience, b/c what I’m getting through Joe includes a Driveshaft Shop driveshaft w/ billet yoke, and instead of the...
Got it - and this all applies to an HPDE car that’s run for 20-25 minute sessions? I didn’t clarify that above.Interestingly, my original MT82 lasted a really, really long time. And despite the power level, I’ve been running a factory Boss clutch which also has lasted a really long time. No...
Thanks very much for the input, everyone. It’s interesting that many recommend the Exedy clutches. Is a McLeod RST or RXT not a preferred option for a road course car? Also I’ve been talking to one supplier, who says the 2.66 tranny available to them have the .74/.50 overdrives, not the .80/.63...
I’ve done some researching on here and am trying to bottom out on my plan.My MT82 may finally be showing signs of rebuild being needed. After a whole lot of track weekends on my 600rwhp Whipple’d 2011 S197 GT. It’s a dedicated road course car - next to no street driving. I’d like to go the...
Hey folks, so in the process of doing the S197 upgrade to the S550 6-pot front calipers and replacing rear calipers, I accidentally let the master cylinder run dry…argh.
I understand that likely means 1) the master cylinder needs to be bled and 2) the ABS module needs to be bled. Awesome.
I...
Here's a video of me playing with a 302S. My car is a 2011 GT with a 2.3 Whipple. I've spent a lot of time and money dialing this car in cooling-wise (well, and in every other way as well; suspension, etc.).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iFQCaufbPE (go to around 5:30 or so to avoid...
I'm usually happy with PF01's up front. Unless I've gotten my numbers mixed up, I believe I've been running PF06's out back (obviously changed must less frequently). But I'm not seeing the 06's online - I believe those are the ones I've been told have been discontinued? So what do we run out...
What's the widest front tire folks have successfully run on the Drifts? I'm not worried about suspension components in the way (Cortex front setup to run 10.5" wheels) but I don't know about, for example the brake ducts.Thoughts? Thanks!
I may have missed this (on phone) but who did the work? The driveshaft needs to go on the same way it came off with respect to the pinion flange (right?), unless a new flange was installed.
Go to a nearby auto parts store or shop, etc. (whoever would have a obd2 scanner) and get your codes read. Once you get the codes, post them up here and folks may be able to point you in the right direction (google is also helpful for this).
My Canton leaked - I inspected it with my mechanic after he pulled it off and it was pretty clear that the mounting areas were not straight and true - hence the leaking. So there's a lesson - at the least, eyeball these suckers before slapping them on! :D
Hey all, looks like the clutch is starting to slip a bit on my 2011 Whipple'd GT. Anyone have recommendations on a clutch that's great for road-course duty and can handle higher horsepower levels?FYI, I'm running the boss clutch right now. It's been working great so far but looks like it's...
Soft pedal = fluid, not fade. Correct me if I'm wrong......As for pads, HPS is a good STREET pad. When I was a newbie I had a set of HPS lying around and took them out for one of my sessions. I quickly learned a lesson when, despite my thinking "holy cow these are GREAT" for the first few...
Sorry limited time otherwise I'd contribute more: don't forget (you may already have this ready to go) water, Gatorade, sunscreen, lawn chair, quick Detailer to wipe down doors before applying numbers, painters tape if they will not be providing prepared vinyl numbers, windex/invisible glass to...
