There is/should be more brake clearance with 19's, but is totally dependent on wheel design. Not all 19's will fit (as pointed out elsewhere in this thread). Barrel diameter, spider shape, and offset are critical to be certain tires/wheels don't rub brakes or suspension. Wheel manufacturers...
A reasonable question: Gearing changes in the new M82-D4 (1:1 is 4th) make 2nd a little stiff for AX (1:1 in the M82 is 5th). Shorter tires move the revs into the torque band.
Last night the following wheels were test fitted on my 2018 PP1:18"x10.5"x25mm offset Konig Ultraform's with 315/30-18 Hoosier drag radials fit over the front calipers with about 1/16" clearance in the corners (lots of clearance over the rears). There's about 3/8" tire clearance from the...
Offset update: My 2018 PP1 has 19x9x45 front and 19x9.5x52.5 rear.Stigs bald brother posted images of 2015-2016 PP wheels (earlier in this thread) as 19x10.5x30 front and 19x11x62 rear. Are the larger wheels possibly the same as PP2? Please reply if you can confirm. Also: Last night I...
Thanks DocWalt,The result of your input, I'm looking into CAM-C and STP as alternatives. To my surprise, 2017 track times between FS, CAM-C, and STP are much closer than expected:F-Street 45 drivers, Fastest 56.5/61.6 Slowest 69.3/71.6STP 18 drivers, Fastest 55.8/60.6 Slowest 63.1/71.9...
From the SCCA rulebook (below), width must be the same as standard. Do you think anyone would argue if the rears are 0.5" narrower than standard?Any type wheel may be used provided it complies with the following:A. It is the same width as standard and as installed it does not have...
Thanks for your reply DocWalt; so much for wishful thinking.Re-reading the rules, it says an option must be completed in whole to be legal. I'll take your word that the PP2 is A-Street. A question about the 19X9X45mm Ecoboost wheels: Why wouldn't they be legal? Same exact 19X9X45mm up...
New to the forum, I'm an SCCA F-street (former S-197) AX driver looking for wheel recommendations for my new 2018 S550 PP1 car. Square is needed due to frequent rotations needed, but I'm stuck with +/-7mm offset due to SCCA rules. Thankfully, PP2 wheels/tires are legal because it's an option...
