I know it’s too early to be underwhelmed, especially by just pics in a press release. The FP350 and 302S just seem more bespoke and racey. Maybe it’s the wing? I’m sure this is fast, but it’s lacking the sizzle of prior cars.
AJ, I’m no expert with spring rates. Should the 980 BMR rear springs work fine with your 350 fronts? I noticed your test was with 1000 rears, so I’m wondering if 980 is “close enough.” Thanks!
My total Hagerty policy for five cars and inTech trailer is $3800 per year, which covers $450K at guaranteed replacement value. Only one of the cars is a street car (2016 GT350), and the miles are very limited. I also choose fairly high deductibles with insurance. Higher streetcar miles and...
I’ve been using Hagerty trailer and paddock insurance for several years. Race car is covered everywhere but on track. Spare parts, tools, etc. in the trailer are covered at guaranteed value. This also covers racecars without a VIN, like the 302S.They really customize the policy to fit your needs.
I agree on all counts. My experience this year with the Boss 302S has completely sold me on factory track cars. Building a track car is a lot of fun, but the factory racers are so dialed in.
This website seems to have a pretty ”connected” group of members in the industry. I’m wondering what the process will be to get one of the club racing models. How did Ford allocate the 350S to interested customers? It’s really cool that Ford is going all in with the factory built racecars.
Hi Folks! As a follow up to this thread, some advice and a question. This aero package requires springs that are stiffer than what I can find commercially available. The BMR linear rate kit that I'm running allows the nose of the car to press the splitter into the track under heavy trail...
My 350R is Leadfoot and my 302S is white. I can clean the Boss with spray detailer and a towel without ever actually washing the car. The 350R looks like a disaster if not properly cleaned. The white is also very easy to touchup.
The problem with bureaucracy is that the only way a bureaucrat can justify their job is by making it increasingly complicated. A free market highlights what’s important through revenue and profit. A bureaucrat doesn’t have that feedback loop of value, so they replace it with artificial...
Just to add, every detail and piece from AJ went perfectly. Installation, hardware, fit and finish, etc. Maybe I'm new to the party and everyone knows this about him, but I'm thrilled with the process and end result. Now the challenge is driving to the level of the car!-Spencer
Here's some cool pictures of a package AJ put together for me. Reinforced carbon trunk, fulcrum wing, splitter, canards, and endplates. It's built to the aero rule limits of SCCA TT, M2 class. I'm running it for the first time at the SCCA nationals this weekend
I’m sure this is an ever changing issue, but what’s the current best practice for protecting a carbon splitter? My initial thought is some 3M clear film or something similar. The main fear is the front of the splitter getting sand blasted on track, then compromising the structural integrity...
