I'll say you're being a little harsh with the not buy another Ford comment. This is something that has never been done before and sadly because Ford looked at as an opportunity, they and us, are getting scrutinized by everyone. I mean I've owned 2 Fords and I've had less problems with both of them then my parents have had with BMWs, Mercedes, Lexuses and Toyotas. Ford I believe is doing everything they can to get this to us because they care about the product they have made and the customers who buy it. We're all very disappointed we don't have the TK yet, but it's not Ford's fault. I mean maybe they could have gone a different route of trying to get it out there to us, but no one could have known have difficult CARB was going to be with this.
You sound like a Ford PR rep. ;)

If the trackey mod was canceled and you could get your money back, would you? Not me, I can live with out it, I love this car the way that it is.I not saying I wouldn't want the Trackey, but I don't think it's a deal breaker IMO.

What money COULD you get back?..............It's not a missing option, It's not on the window sticker..........

E85 costs 20% less but you need 20% more volume, would'nt that be a wash then?

It is a wash on cost, but now you have 108 octane fuel. So you can run more timing advance, which means more power and torque. Of course you need a custom dyno tune to take advantage of the E85 fuel. So you may be looking at 300-500 dollars for a dyno tune, but you could easily get 30-40 hp from just switching fuel.

Really want this track key to work, believe that it will be here? I worked at 2 of the Barrett Jackson auction this year, Ford displays were great and the TK was really talked up, Ford has to bring this to market, or they will be remembered as the company that did NOT follow thru with there promise. But I will continue enjoying my Boss as is!

I can live without but I hope it's available soon, very soon. I've got $400 burning a hole in my pocket just waiting on this. ;)

Same here. Was hoping to have it for this weekend's upcoming track event, maybe if I'm lucky it will be ready for the Thanksgiving event at this rate.

Well, this answer could be delivered from the jury after a class action lawsuit. Ford knows it has an obligation to buyers to solve this issue, if they don't it will eventually make its way to the court room. It is in Ford's best interest to release a statement on the status of TK. Letting this issue fester on Mustang forums is not a good plan.

I'm happy I bought my boss and I would not return it if TK is not made available. The problem is the TK talk got my attention and I followed the boss's production because of it. I think Ford knows it has to release it and it will happen. Failure to do so will be a historic mistake for them.

Personal Cliff's Notes:

  • The car performs great out of the box.
  • I am very interested in the TK and it's capabilities.
  • I am planning to buy TK as soon as it is released.
  • I am not planning to sue Ford or return my BOSS if TK is not released.
  • If TK is not released, I will definitely pursue an aftermarket tune once my warranty period has expired.

Works for me too :D

That sums up my position as well.

I definitely want TK, no doubt about that. If it so happens that they don't release it, I will be getting an aftermarket tune....go conservative on the tune and it shouldn't have any negative impact on the car. I'm not saying it can't make something go wrong, but it makes it way less likely if I'm not trying to squeeze every last ounce of power out of a tune. Time will tell!

On what basis would anyone or could anyone file a lawsuit where the trackey is concerned. On one of the other Boss forums a member was booted for trying to enlist others into getting involved in a lawsuit with him against Ford and one of the reasons was the trackey. Has anyone here bought there Boss because of trackey or was it just an added benefit? As for myself, I bought the CAR not the key.

The TK IS a featured selling point of the car. If Ford fails to provide it I'm sure there is some breach of sales agreement that could come into play.
I doubt it will come to that as I'm sure TK, in some form, will eventually be offered.

Very good statement, I agree with all the above, plus I will keep my 8 other Fords, really just hate answering all the questions from the other two companies! Every show that I have taken the LS to, she draws the biggest crowd, first comment is why I do not have the RED key!

" some breach of sales agreement" maybe you know better than I, but can you direct me to where in the sales agreement or contract it specifically has any mention of the trackey. Please understand I am just as disappointed about the trackey as anyone, I just don't see where the legal grounds for a lawsuit come into play.
