GT350 Race Car at Daytona

This is not the street legal GT350R that we expect at the Detroit International Show next week but the race car that Multimatic will campaign in the CTSCC in 2015.

At first glance you'll notice the much larger wing on the back and splitter up front. Also notice the lack or rear brake ducts like I was hoping for. Clearly this is a full race car in the same vane at the BOSS 302R available from Ford Racing. Anyway between this and the Detroit auto show the next week is going to be a good one for fans of Mustang. 8)

Also note full race spec Brembo four and six piston calipers and rotors, and the same BBS wheels that Ford Racing has been using for the past few years. The cage and seat (Interior) all look to be typical Ford Racing/Multimatic/Watson Racing stuff. Also it only has two hood pins so maybe the kept the factory latch?

Oh and Billy Johnson smiling.

I'm sure it's an amazing car but with typical me I have to nitnoid anything new or different.

1. Don't like the front cage gussets. Looks overdone.
2. Don't like the street tuner looking "wing".

LOL that was my first thought too. The early 90's Toyota Supra TT was a serious sports car for it's time and came with a similar factory wing. I doubt IMSA will allow Ford to use that wing for the series but who knows. I'm sure the purpose of that car being in Daytona was to get input from IMSA on what they are going to allow to meet spec.

I always liked the looks of the Supra wing and as long as it's functional I'll be fine with this one. It also reminds me a bit of the 996 GT3 wing and Ford stated they were going after the 911 so I'll stick with this one. ;D

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the wing on the car either lol and definitely supra vibe

Not to nitpick ;) but the yellow car is not a GT3 but just has an AeroKit wing and the silver car is a 7.1 GT3 which has an ugly IMHO Taco wing. Having owned 2 6GT3's I do have a little experience :)

The wing seems to be pretty polarizing as far as reception but I can guarantee you that it's functional.
At least they got it finished and onto the car in-time to run it in IMSA.

From what I was told, the CS/Laguna spoiler was supposed to go on the 302R but Ford Racing wasn't able to get it approved by Grand-Am in time, so they ended up running the Steeda FR500C wings.

I still have mixed emotions about the quad exhaust tips. It's a cosmetic thing, adds weight (why have four? when two is better?) and probably doesn't flow as well as a single 4-4.5" tip.
Also, its hard to make out but that rear diffuser doesn't look too aggressive for racing. Looks like the stocker one.

And, well, that Eagle Talon wing....

Just some nits. I nit from the heart. :)

Here's a much better photo of the rear diffuser. Definitely not a stock GT piece.
