The Autoblog article about this says that more info is coming out next week.

that's right...I think there's more to know about this car...just hope that follow-on reveals are bigger than the shift lights..though, I do like the shift lights.

This is interesting. These lights looks just like the crash avoidance lights on the current Mustang but yellow instead of red. What do you think will this be useful?

Supposedly there are a few other surprises coming for the GT350 and I'm hoping one of them is rev matching. ;)

I'd posted that in the general forum, so you can delete that thread if you'd like.
the story I read on autoblog talked about how the engineer that designed it came up with the idea and, yes, they're using the crash avoidance light system with different color lighting and, obviously, different programming.
I think it will be marginally useful. I tend to shift based on sound, not looking at the gauge...but having and easy-to-understand visual in an easy-to-see place will be a nice-to-have.

I have shift lights on the AIM MXL2 in my Boss -- really helpful for the first few laps around a new track, but once I know the track I tend to rely on a combination of sound and track position....

I like the shift light. It gives you warning that you are getting close to your shift point. I remember reading (or hearing) that the GT350 is supposed to get a built in track lap timer too.
