Team Shelby – Pacific Coast Region in partnership with the Blackhawk Automotive Museum http://www.blackhawkmuseum.org/ (a Smithsonian affiliate) conveniently located in the San Francisco East Bay suburb of Danville, is excited to bring this 3rd annual charity event honoring the legacy of Carroll Shelby to NorCal “Powered by Ford” enthusiasts. This memorial car show will feature Shelby, Ford GT, Cobra, Tiger and Boss vehicles. Although show entry requires a nominal donation, spectator attendance is free to all. Special guest speaker Allen Grant is scheduled to attend. Some vehicle surprises from the Cobra Experience and Taormina Imports are in the works too. Tim McGrane, Executive Director of the Blackhawk Museum (and a former Barrett Jackson executive) will be on hand with Allen to help judge entries and issue some neat trophies!

RSVP’s and pre-payment of a charity donation of $35 per entered vehicle is required for this event being held on the lower plaza. 20 upper plaza reservations are available for a $50 charity donation (now sold out). Please use the GoFundMe link below to facilitate this transaction. When your payment is confirmed, this will be noted on the roster below. Donated entry fees will be shared with the Carroll Shelby Foundation http://www.shelby.com/?topic=csf and Wheels for Chairs http://www.wheelchairfoundation.org/ .

Payment Link: https://www.gofundme.com/7aut959m - Reservations are requested by Sunday May 1st. Thanks!

So mark your calendars and post-up if you’re interested in joining us with your entry - or as a spectator, for a great day at the Blackhawk Museum honoring Carroll Shelby with other “Powered by Ford” enthusiasts. Please note the year and model of your vehicle when replying so trophy categories / quantities can be determined in advance based upon expected attendance.

Note: For ease of editing, I’ll maintain the list of Memorial Classic car show entries in Post #2 immediately below.

The show starts at 10am and ends at 2pm. Owners entering their vehicles in the show should arrive by 9:00am to allow adequate time for staging, and if located on the upper plaza, will not be able to exit until sometime just after 2pm. Please note that parking at one edge of the plaza is sometimes subject to overspray from the water fountains in windy conditions, although this is rare. Also, there are several restaurants in the complex to enjoy lunch at.

The Blackhawk Automotive Museum is located at 3700 Blackhawk Plaza Circle, Danville, CA 94506

Here is an aerial view of the upper and lower plazas where the car show will take place and reserved spectator parking appears at the bottom.

Rick,

It would be great to have you and your new GT350 at the Blackhawk event.

Tell Bruce he needs to come down with you in his GHIG Boss. My LS needs some company. ;-)

Jim

Can't make it this year. As I said in the Buttonwillow thread, my daughter graduates from Naval basic training the day before (5/6). As proud as I was last year winning an award, I'll way more proud of my daughter this year!

Andy,

That's way more important and there's always next year. Maybe you can make SATL 7 on June 25th.

So far, the Cobra snake pit is full and we'll have at least 8 new 2016 Shelby GT350's on hand for this 3rd annual event.

I want to thank everyone that braved the weather and came out for the 3rd Annual Carroll Shelby Memorial Classic charity event recently. Considering the threat of showers, we still had a good turnout. Fortunately, it was dry in the morning and after noon following Allen Grant’s presentation to a standing room only crowd. Thanks also to the Cobra Experience for bringing part of their collection to the Blackhawk. Our next generation Shelby owners turned out in force with over 10 GT350's. Here are several pictures of vehicles their proud owners displayed.

Any word on a 4th annual event in Danville?

straightliner1,

Yes, the 4th Annual Carroll Shelby Memorial Classic at the Blackhawk Automotive Museum in Danville is scheduled for Saturday, May 13th.

I'll be posting the event on the evening of March 12th on various Forums, so check then here or on Team Shelby: http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php/forum/96-pacific-coast/ You'll most likely also receive a notice from my GoFundMe account to make a reservation if you've joined us before.

We've arranged for a great speaker who chronicled in black & white Carroll's early days with the Cobra program. Many historic pictures that you may have never seen before will be shared on the Museum's big screen http://www.blackhawkmuseum.org/?tv=6424971002773504&dtv=4982982653771776&to=5859113502769152

Awesome! I'll put it on my calendar. I'm definitely down to come through again. Hopefully it doesn't rain this time though.
