That is one " Mean Green Machine," and your tolerant wife of a Redneck Racer, sounds like a lovely woman, and I feel you should consider yourself lucky?! Putting up with your mistress, Fiona, shows she really has an understanding nature , and better take her out to dinner tonight, cuz I am pretty sure considering your little welcome story , that she loves your Redneck posterior!?

Hello,

Thank you for adding me. My name is Chris and I have a 2007 Mustang GT with about a dozen track days under my belt. I'm an active duty Air Force officer. I was referred here by some other folks from Facebook. I've got quite a few mods on my car, mostly suspension (Cortex and a smattering of other pieces) and brakes. I'm getting ready to head overseas for a few years so I will be away from my car, but I hope that I can keep up with the track Mustang community through this forum! I'm not yet sure what my long term goals are. I don't foresee wheel-to-wheel racing, but maybe time trials for fun.

Are introduction/build threads a thing here? I'd love to be able to keep everything in one place and ask questions regarding my specific car.

Welcome Chris! And thank you for your service.
Yes, build threads are awesome, feel free to post up.
As a fellow 3 valver I would be particularly interested to follow, but pretty much everybody here is good about sharing of info.
Good bunch of non judgmental people with a wealth of experience and no drama....
Glad you found us. :)

Chris,

Thank you for your service. Memorial Day weekend is a great time to introduce yourself. I love that you've run Optima. That's the target for my build, and I'd like to hear how your personal experience went. I'm a noob on TMO as well, so I don't know if there's a thread on here specific to Optima builds.

Optima is a great experience and an excellent value for the price. I have only done one event. I was scheduled to attend NJMP this year but can't make it. Even at full price, the amount of seat time you get during the full weekend is amazing. The staff clearly loves what they do and the support is phenomenal.

I have seen a lot of different Optima-specific builds. The nice thing is that there are different categories so even if you aren't competitive in one, winning another can earn you an invite. The range of cars there is also pretty awesome to behold.

New to this site ... thanks for the add! I hail out of Bucks County, PA. Currently have a few Mustangs: a 1966 Kcode Springtime Yellow fastback, a 1970 Boss302 in Grabber Blue, and the Yellow/black stripe TrakPak 2016 GT350. The build dates on the 66 Kcode and 2016 GT350 are exactly 50 years apart and I have shown them together at local car shows. Enjoy car shows with the older Mustangs and HPDE days with the new one. Currently active in Lehigh Valley SAAC, Mustang6g/GT350 forum, Boss302 forum, and vintage-mustang forum.

Rainier42, Welcome to our forum. I'm guessing "Dorothy" might head the list of your favorite rides, but if not, enjoy them all, even that misplaced BMW. We all enjoy a good ride on this side of the journey no questions asked!

Yes, Dorothy is a favorite and my wife really enjoys driving her (as soon as she gets in she's like can to turn up the exhaust note). However, the older Mustangs are a real hoot to drive.

Hey all, new guy here from the Chicagoland area. Just found this site and super impressed with all the great technical info available! I have a 2013 Mustang GT Premium Track Pack 6MT. Slowly building it and adding parts as time goes on but just love driving it (especially on track). Cheers!

William here. from Los Angeles. raced Miata (PTE, PTD, then SuperMiata) past 7 years.

Drove a buddy's brand new 17 GT350 on Sonoma track, this is the first bone stock car I drove on track that had no issues. A week later, bought one myself !! I've owned over 50 cars (including ~10 track / race cars), never owned a Mustang.

I'm Dave from Detroit originally, moved to CA 14 years ago. Perfect weather and perfect roads (in many places). I live close enough to my office to walk into work so I normally only only drive on the weekend. I bought a GT350 that I find to be awesome (I sold my 2011 GT 5.0 to buy the Shelby). I did the Track Attack class that Ford puts on in Salt Lake City and had an absolute blast. I'd like to get my car on the track me into some kind of habit of doing track days. So, if there are members in the Bay Area who already do track days I'd love to find out about how to become a weekend track day warrior.
