OK, I did this awhile ago and can't find it so it's time for a rebop. The stuff we use around here is called goat pee, but there are other types of it around. In many places it's illegal to use, however I'm kind of on the fence about that, it will increase traction in new tires and I can see where that should be illegal, but for the HPDE and auto-x guys who are trying to get another track day out of tires that are used, it can be beneficial.
I will say this, if your tires have a MM of rubber left before they are corded, you need new tires, nothing can prevent that, however, if you have decent rubber on the tire and they have been stored a long time, or have more heat cycles than you like then this is for you. The dirt guys around here have rotisseries for rotating their tires in this stuff all week before a race, so it does work, but as with anything else, your results may vary.

The tire on the left is a Conti take off, it's been labeled as to where when and how, and it's now time to rehab this tire..The one on the right is the finished product.






First off you need to remove the pickup from the tire, this is so that you are actually treating the tire surface and not the pickup. This is also the time to inspect the tire, check the wear bar/holes and consider any adjustments to pressure or setup...wear old clothes.






Get out your goat pee, camber in a can, Formula V or whatever and apply it to the clean tire.






Once the tire is coated..hope you wore gloves you can go to the next step






Which is "burnishing" in the goat pee with an old rage and wiping off any major access






This is the end product, a slight sheen is all that's necessary





Take the tire. wrap it up in some plastic and tape the ends shut, the plastic may actually adhere to the tire, not an issue, it will be gone after about 100 feet.





The tires can then be stacked in a cool, dry place for the next time you use them.

have replicated this process with some success. Wear increases in trade for a little more grip out of an otherwise lifeless tire, but that's exactly what I wanted: a bit more grip out of some crappy tires.

I used formula v on old dried out slicks didn't clean just sprayed it on 3 to 4 applications waiting 3 days between applications. And 3 days before use for the last application. Slicks went from holding me back 2 - 3 seconds slower than nt05s to 2 seconds faster.

Thanks @blacksheep-1 and especially @rasalone -- I used Formula V today to rehab last year's R7's -- after two applications the rubber looks, feels and smells like new. I expect they'll be quicker. If this dang winter will just end, we'll hit the track with them the first warm Friday.

formula V is a pretty good product, however, over the years it has been surpassed by others, I would call theg guys at TS racing and see what they have, I've used Formula V and some of the Hot Laps products as well.
