We've also been using 18x11 Braid Fullrace Concave wheels. Designed from the start for motorsports. Pretty heavy duty for the curb hoppers. And no waiting for blanks.

Those are pretty sharp looking!

How is the price of the Braid wheels compared to the forgestars??

Delivered, a set of Braid 18x11" are about $1836 in white, or $2016 in a non-white color coat.
The delivered price for a set of 18x11" Forgestars is around $1660.

The Braid wheels are actually a little cheaper before the delivery charges, but they are air shipped from Spain, which bumps the price up relative to Forgestar. The alternative is to wait until the main US importer orders an entire container full, which happens about twice a year, and then pay to have them shipped within the US. This Braid wheel has addressed all our issues with Forgestar with the downside of a minor bump in cost, extra costs for colors and no variety of styles.

Braid has promised a worst case four week turnaround time, and so far they have delivered on that promise.

So Weld now owns a controlling interest in Forgestar and CCW
So that means Momo owns them all now. Would have been happier if they where all independant still but thats the way it goes..... For me, my next wheels will more then likely be Apex in any case.

Does the 18x10" ET43 APEX EC-7 Mustang Wheels on a S197 require a spacer when running a square setup or is that only the 18x11s?
No spacer needed.

If I was buying wheels would really look at 18x11, I thought I saw somewhere that you wanted to run 305's with the 18x10's? I tried that, but the 305 Conti slicks turned out slower then Dunlop semis in 295's. I think the 305's were a little too wide for the 18x10's

I want to avoid running a front 1/2" spacer if I go Apex or other wheels options besides the Vorshlag 18x11s.

If I go 18x10, I'll be going with 295s for best fit. I agree, the 305s would be a little too wide for the 18x10s.

Who's afraid of a little spacer?

Maybe thats why I have been breaking bolts and launching wheels down the road solo..... Hubcentric they should have been!!

Hubcentric, yes. Nothing at all wrong with a quality spacer that's properly installed and torqued. Been using them for decades.

It might just be me. But I no longer trust none hubcentric spacers. Had quite a few ARP bolts break on me and even one time was overtaken by my rear wheel in a three lane tunnel with lots of traffic.... Got off very lucky but don't want to repeat the experience!

No spacer is certainly preferable but to get 11’s or 12’s under our cars and be able to rotate them necessities a spacer. Apex 10’s fit with no spacer perfectly and is what I ran before moving to the 12’s.
Just saying, most of us have already or are in the process of moving to the wider wheels so using a spacer isn’t enough of a deterrent to give up the extra bite. To each his own, of course.

I too was dead set against spacers. Still don't like them, but am running a 3/4" spacer on the fronts.
Sometimes you just have to give in. You gotta do what you gotta do.
