Schroth Qiuckfit Pro - Adding Anti-Sub Strap(s)???

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

I am going to order some anti-sub straps for my S550. I am using the Schroth Quickfit Pro harnesses with the factory heated/cooled seats. I was wondering if anyone has already done the install and if you could post some pics?

I am thinking I am going to have to run eye bolts through the floor with inner and outer reinforcement plates. I am going to see if there is a kit to hit the factory seat mount bolts. I hate the idea of cutting holes in the floor... but I'm going to do it if that's the only way.

Thanks in advance!

Are you using the stock seats? If so how are you going to route the belts?

So, I have the stock seats right now... but my driver seat is broken and I am considering my options. (I started another thread about that).

I am considering full-blown race seats for 3 seasons a year. I never thought of running them out the back of the stock seats. That sounds like a good idea.

Thanks for the link... I'm going to read it now.

Here is what they look like. They are not the most elegant looking mounts I've made! There is not a lot of room to work with. I am going to be building a few more sets of these in the coming weeks. One of these days I should make a for sale thread.

@06mach1 those look great. If I end up replacing my broken seat with another stock seat, I'll reach out to you, for sure. Those look pretty stout... I'm liking the bright red too!

I'm new to this, so I'm not sure how the anti-sub belts mount with a full race seat, but I'm guessing I could use your mount with those too?

I don't believe these mounts will work with a race seat, or at least the sub belt portion. Most race seats have a sub belt hole in the front of the bottom cushion. The sub belt mount would be attached to the seat bracket below that hole.

Just curious, have you discussed this mounting attachment scheme with Willans? The Schroth instructions have a pretty small angle from vertical for mounting the crotch straps

I have not spoken to Willians but maybe the guy who originally installed them may have. The picture is of his vehicle. You must use a sub belt that is made to sit on. From Schroths website...

"The indirect routing requires a type of preloading of the anti-submarining straps during a frontal impact. This is achieved by sitting on the anti-submarining straps, routing them rearwards and attaching them in the region near or on the lap belt anchorages.
This anti-sub strap design requires sitting on the straps or having a thin seat panel allowing the straps running rearwards right underneath the driver’s buttock."

I like your solution.

I ended up modifying two sets of Cool-tech harness clips for S197 cars that I bought off this forum. The bolt holes in the back are not spaced evenly so the left side bracket was moved inward and welded. I welded the other two together but probably not necessary. I had to grind a little bit for the brackets to fit flat on top of the stamped seat bracket.

The lap belt brackets work fine. They actually fit better than I could have hoped. The submarine brackets really need to be little further back and a slightly higher.

Mike, are you still making these? And can I get just drivers side?
