It seems that the old stick axle cars liked a 2 psi split on the heavy end, the IRS cars seem to be heading towards the same psi all the way around. The big question always is and will be..what were your target hot pressures? The difference between 37 and 50 degrees (depending also on the track surface) is about 1 psi.

I haven't figured out the target pressures yet. I started at 32. As the day warmed up, the tires were feeling better with 31 in the front and 33 in the rear. Some of this may be contributed to suspension tuning as well. I'm just starting the process.

This was the first run with the new tire and wheel setup - also the first time at this track. It had rained the day before and the temp for the first session was 37*. It warmed up to just over 50* later in the day. The first session was not awe inspiring. Things got better a couple sessions later as the track warmed up and had multiple runs on it. I have a pretty good low speed push to work out. Lowering front tire pressure helped and the car was fairly neutral at higher speeds. Definitely a learning curve for R comp tires.

I really like your color combo. Reminds me of a 1/18 Shelby cobra model my father had when I was a kid that I wanted to steal from the showcase and rip around the carpet lol. Where did you get the stripes?

Agree, car looks amazing in the Blue with "R" spec stripes and those wheels. Any still shots?

On my IRS car, I still find the rear needs to be down a couple PSI from front. I will see how my konis and sway bars change that this year.

Thanks! I had the stripes installed by a local shop. They also did a clear bra on the front and along the rockers all the way to the back behind the rear wheel wells. After the stripes were installed they did a CQuartz treatment. I wanted the stripes to GT350 specs and fortunately they had one at their shop at the same time so they could get the measurements. So far with all the track days the clear bra is doing its job nicely.

I have a couple of shots here that I took real quick when I was doing a quick shake down run with my track wheels and tires. My street wheels are the HRE FF04's in Tarmac.

The rods came with the APR splitter. They are attached via holes drilled through the bottom of the bumper. I reinforced the mounting points with 3/16" thick aluminum strips that were 1" wide.

Yes, you are correct. That's how the APR splitters are attached for these cars. With the aluminum reinforcement on the back, I'm fairly confident that I could almost stand on it without too much movement.

Are they 1” square or 1” x X” ‘s 1 piece from strut to strut ? I used my splitter all last year doing track nights and street driving with no struts. Have been 150 mph and it stayed on. But I will add them this season.

I believe I cut them to a 2.5 or 3" length. I just wanted to spread the load out so that it's not concentrated on the small washer that APR provides. One thing I did was use a nylon lock nut instead of the standard nuts that come with the struts. I didn't want to have to pull the front bumper for a small nut working loose.

I would highly recommend securing the splitter to the frame as well. https://trackmustangsonline.com/threads/apr-carbon-fiber-gt350-splitter.12117/page-2#post-177338

Finally got the 2018 out on track for the first time, and it performs very well. Definitely a step up from 15-17 performance pack. If there is one thing besides the obvious wheels and tires to improve lap times, and consistency, it's brakes. Pedal feel is spongy, and non confidence inspiring, and I was able to completely cook the brakes after just a few hot laps, on a track that isn't very demanding on brakes.

I'll post a video as soon as I get it edited and uploaded to YouTube.

Great time this weekend at VIR despite the weather not fully cooperating until Sunday afternoon. This weekend was on street tires (285 RS4s) so really looking forward to the next event with the 305 NT01's on 18x11 Apex wheels. Great meeting @DocWalt and others as well.

* wind was a big issue. on 1.5 years old Michelin tires that came with the car (destroyed a set of Goodyear 3R tires last event).

Pretty windy day. Got 3 laps in before I messed up my alignment and got only a single flyer lap out of it that day.
