With summer just over a month away, it’s time to post-up notice of “Snakes at the Lake” – 2018, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 30th. As in years past, our current plan has us departing Old Town Sacramento and cruising up Highway 50 through the Sierras as we make our way to the lake. We’ll stop briefly for fuel and a rest break at the Chevron station in Meyers and stage at the golf course parking lot across the way where members from Nevada will meet us. Then we’ll head up scenic Highway 89 on the west side of the lake past Emerald Bay, the Rubicon and Sunnyside areas towards Tahoe Vista on the north shore, where we’re making arrangements again for a relaxing day enjoying a BBQ and Car Show.

For a glimpse of previous SATL’s, check out our YouTube videos below.

RSVP’s and pre-payment are required for this event so we can anticipate required parking and determine how many meals will be needed. Please use the GoFundMe link below to facilitate this transaction. When your payment is confirmed, this will be noted on the roster found at the Team Shelby link below. After accounting for expenses, any funds left over will be donated to the Carroll Shelby Foundation http://www.shelby.com/?topic=csf so extra donations are welcomed ;-)

Cost for attending the event is:

$40 per driver/vehicle, which includes NTPUD facility rental and parking fee, BBQ lunch and cold refreshments.

$10 for each additional guest to cover BBQ lunch and cold refreshments.

Payment Link: https://www.gofundme.com/9th-annual-snakes-at-the-lake

Reservations are requested by no later than Sunday June 24th. Available parking slots are limited this year. This event is rain or shine and payments are non-refundable.

So mark your calendars and post-up if you’re interested in joining us for a great day on the road and at the lake with other “Powered by Ford” enthusiasts.

Note: For ease of editing, I’ll maintain the list of SATL-9 attendees in Post #2 at the Team Shelby link immediately below.

Here’s the address where we’ll be meeting in Old Town Sac. Front and 101 K Streets, Sacramento, CA 95814
Let’s plan on arriving around 7:45am and we’ll head out about 8:30am. Note: We’ll be at Steamers on the corner to process your registrations (and get a morning caffeine fix ;-)

I’m 99% sure I’m going and will register the first week in June. Always a good time and this is my favorite event of the year.

As of tonight, there are only 3 spaces remaining for Snakes at the Lake - 2018, with approximately 150 enthusiasts attending. By my count, there are at least a half dozen TMO members registered for SATL-9. If you've been on the fence and want to jump onboard - now is the time!

Best,

Jim

Been to Lake Tahoe/Reno on several occasions but would like to do the cruise and all. Been looking for a car hauler for a few months and think I've got one lined up so that I can drag "Sweet Lorraine" to the roundup in hasting this year and to infinity and beyond in 2019. As I mentioned before, this snakes-at-the-lake" event is on my radar for 2019.

Coming out next year has taken a step closer to reality. I purchased this 8.5 x 24 Atlas trailer yesterday and although it will need to be built out, I should be able to use it to bring my car to Hastings in September. It should also allow me to start hitting up events further away.
