Track: Eagles Canyon Raceway - July 21, 2018
Lap Time: 2:04.224 (Aim Solo)
Ambient temperature: 100 degrees!!!
Car: 2014 Mustang GT
Konis/Daily driver mild springs
Tires: Hankook Ventus RS-4s 305/30/19

Last time on ECR. Set new PB by a couple tenths in triple digit temperatures. Sure bodes well for when i get used to the RS4s and new brake setup. Left a bunch on the table. E.g. late to throttle in 2 and 4, short shifted between 5 and 6, broke way too early in 6, and too much in 9,more of the same early brake in 11. The big S550 6-piston Brembos are gonna be good when I get used to them.

Check out the improved runoff areas in corners 4-5, and the 9-10 canyon. Very confidence inspiring. Can't wait to see the repave and configuration enhancements.

First track weekend in the GT350R! High Plains Raceway, chased down a 997 GT3 and a GT4 Club Sport, though I don't think he was pushing that hard. 1:59.9. Sorry for the crummy video and Trackaddict SNAFUs, still learning the tool...

2017 GT350R, stock everything
1:59.98

I was looking to attend the PWC race at LS this October and ran across the lap records for the race. @ajaquilante holds the lap record during the race @ 1:31.465 in a self made Boss 302S so TMO members can use that time for reference. Good luck catching him!

AJ, without giving up your race setup secrets maybe you can share tire and wheel sizes used on that car and maybe dampers or any other setup tips. As discussed before I don't believe you're a fan of Watts Links on the S197 chassis so that car used a panhard bar?

Also @Mad Hatter was asking about the lap time difference between a Mustang and Porsche Cup car so I included that time as well.

Laguna 2016 was on the 305/680 Pirelli's on 10.5" wheels. Penske shocks, a huge amount of camber, our modified front bar, No watts link, and an OEM 3rd link, with the cambered rear axle. They allowed headers mid-way through the season, but still had a restrictor, but much larger than in 2015. I think we had something like 40 more RWHP than 2015. If it wasn't for me over revving a down shift, would not have dropped so far back resetting the ECU and probably would have won, instead I had to light the fuse and use the tires up catching back up and didn't have enough to make a move after a caution.
That qualifying record isn't correct, I think I qualifed 3rd at a 1:30.7, and pole was a 1:30.4

Took the restrictor out of it, ran Hoosier 315 A7's and went. 1:54.9 at VIR a couple weeks later in qualifying for the SCCA 13 hour in the same car.

Thats really something!! So one could say that the stick axle Boss with 320/650-18's, a unrestricted engine and all the suspension goodies of the GTS class could/can be very competitive against a GT3 cup car..... Assuming relatively even drivers.....Naturally!!!

So! now all I have to do is learn how to drive a whole bunch better!! Lol!

Many thanks for the inspiration!!!!

Very smooth. Do you still have your S197 and if so what's the status?

S197 is going on a trip to Detroit to solve ECU issues that have prevented it from starting. Hopefully the Stinger Team can sort it out for me later this month. After that a friend is buying it and will be club racing it in NASA next year. I will be joining him for some enduros as well.
