I haven't been taking pics of the 12" pies. Not sure why, but they don't make me wanna take pics like the single 16" pizza. Same stuff, different day.

Absolutely! pies, marinara, salads, sammiches...not sure what they *don't* go into.

Apparently, growing enough this year to attract tomato horn worms. Found these the other day and left them out for the birds. Skewered another one this morning.

My Dad had something like that invade his tomato garden way back when. Hard to spot since they're green and blend in with the tomato plant. What gives them away is when you start noticing whole branches with all the leaves eaten off. I've never seen any in my garden since I've been "farming".

Yeah, that's exactly how I knew there were some around. One of the cherry tomato plants really got hit. Took me over a week to find them after I first noticed the eaten leaves. High heat 'crisped' some of the leaves the other week and made it really hard to see through...until I cleaned off the dead leaves. The big one was about 3/4" round and 4" long.

Dead_Cow, Did you ever get to make your pizza Curious to know how it came out.If you didn't get to it yet....get busy...:D

I did! It didn't turn out as good as I hoped it would, but not too bad either.

I had my mother make the dough because she has a bread maker and is always dying to use it. I picked up all the other ingredients from the store. The crust came out quite dense. I spoke to my mother about what we could do to improve the crust, and we determined that she forgot to let the dough rise.

We made four 12" pizzas: cheese, sausage & black olive, pepperoni, and white w/pesto (instead of red sauce=> olive oil + ricotta/mozzarella + mozzarella + pesto).

Next time I'll get pics.:D

Those worm are voracious eaters and where there's one, there are always more.
I used agent orange left over from the war on mine.
Forgot it's a defoliant.
Worms got as big as a oak tree and tomatoes were black and tasted strange.
Wonder how a roasted horn worm would taste on a pie?

Ha! I'll save some for you, next time you're in town!

When I found that big one, I had my kids come out and see if they could find it. One was looking right at it maybe 6" away...still couldn't see it.
