Yes but I haven't used them on track yet and they are not on a Mustang. @Black Boss has been using them on his GT350 with good results. They are quality two piece rotors so proceed with no concerns other than lightening your wallet.
Thanks, i have to try something. I lost brakes twice at poconos. Last year I boiled the rbf660 fluid. This year I blew up a set of dba 5000s2dbdb2e713dbd624739c6dad20d62599.jpge0ffd8a7b6542de52265311dbc484e70.jpg7f011cce85880ed360d8c535a0135048.jpg916651a0f27a30829f6fe52d24bf674b.jpg

It is a very expensive hobby. And it's as addictive as heroine! Lol
That wallet always seems to take a beating one way or another owning these cars...if you can't pay .don't play.. or in my case..how much gas is left in the tank?

This is why I have been pushing 15” brake conversions since the 2013 GT500 debuted them in early ‘13. Get rid of those puny 4 piston calipers with their minuscule pad size and step up. The money you would spend on Girodiscs will cover the conversion costs. Run Ford blanks and that will never happen again. Then next year get the Girodiscs because yes they are awesome.

Don't they require using the 19" wheels? That's my only drawback. I like using the 18s and the cheap slicks [emoji6]

Apex makes 18x11 wheels that work perfectly. Just add long high strength studs (which should be used anyway) and a 20mm spacer for the fronts. About $1400 for a set with spacers.

Did you do front and rears?

Where's the best place to get them?

I'm definitely going to check it out. I'm done for this season, wheels and brakes are going to set me back!

I'll have the winter to decide which direction I'm going and get it ready b4 spring.

Fronts I run the 2015-18 PP calipers with 2013-14 GT500 spec rotors and brake hoses. Rear I did the 2013-14 GT500 upgrade to 13.8” diameter rotor using the Ford brackets. Rear calipers don’t change.

So the rear calipers are the same, but i need a new bracket for the larger GT500 rotor??

American muscle has a complete 6 piston fronts and single piston rear with rotors and brakes for $2k

LMR has a complete front set up for $1650

American muscle sounds like the better deal.

Any opinions?

Here’s a complete list of parts using 15-current PP calipers:

I would recommend this route over 13-14 GT500 calipers for pads/service parts cost and availability. I originally got fancy with red powder coat but later went back to black due to excessive race pad brake dust. Shims are also an optional expense so $1300-$1400 for a complete setup is doable.

jza1736 - It's been a couple of years since I looked at doing front brake upgrades but the biggest problem with the 2013/14 GT500 6 piston calipers was a total lack of good high performance brake pad options. That situation may have changed in the meantime. I believe that there are a lot more options for the S550 6 piston Brembos (a much larger caliper and pad).

Yikes, yep look at the S550 six piston kit. Using two piece rotors will also help but I think the stock rotors with the S550 calipers would be a good start. I posted in the other thread that soon the red calipers from the 2019 Bullitt might be available.

The S550 calipers will fit on the boss?

This is getting more complicated.

I'm thinking the 2 piece Girodisc rotors will dissipate more heat.

Getting ready for Button Willow this weekend. Full brake fluid change and bleed, two new rear tires. New rotor rings and pads for the front, new rotors and pads in the rear, Trying out Auto zones new GT rotors in the rear, I want to see if I can crack them like the stock ones (stock size). I had to replace a Howe ball joint boot in the right side. For some reason I keep ripping that one up. Left side is is good after all this time. Don't get it. Put the side pipes back on for the hell of it. It sounds better anyway.
