Hopped on the site a few days ago, and wanted to introduce myself. I am Chris, from Tacoma, WA. I picked up a 4500 mile 2012 GT last July. Told myself I am going to keep this one street friendly, but reading through some of the build threads on here, I am not sure that will happen. I got into karting last year, and love that, so hopefully I can keep the Mustang to the "double duty" side. I have already done a little bit to it, and waiting for better weather to get it out on track this year. Going to probably pick alot of you guys's brains since you have "been there, done that, and it broke". But my current Mod list is:
19"x9.5 SVE Drift Wheels
Nitto NT555 G2 285/35/19 All four Corners
Steeda Sport Springs
BMR Tubular K-Member
BMR Strut Tower Brace
BMR Adjustable panhard bar
BMR Panhard Bar Brace
BMR Lower Rear Control Arms
BMR Control Arm Relocation Brackets
Ford Boss 302 Blue Coil Covers
Boss 302 Steering wheel
Steeda jacking Rails
SCT X4
MGW X-Spec Shifter
Koni STR.T Shocks, and Struts
GT500 Strut Mounts
Cervini Boss Chin Spoiler/Splitter Combo
Magnaflow RTR Axle Back Exhaust
JLT V3 Catch Can
GT500 PCV

I have these, just haven't installed them yet. (chasing a false knock before tune)
Cobra Jet Intake Manifold
Ford Super Cobra Jet Monoblade Throttle Body
JLT Carbon Fiber Cobra Jet CAI
BBK 1-3/4" Long Tube Headers
BBK Catted X-Pipe

I am looking into the S550 6 piston front brake swap, maybe a Watts Link as well, just want to do some more research first. Anyway here is a pic of the car. Nothing to exciting.

Welcome aboard! good list so far...camber plates and front sway bar!! Do you have the brembos?
I didn't want to update the list yet, but I ordered MM CC plates today actually :). I was going to ask about a consensus on a front sway bar. I see that alot of people do not "upgrade" the rear bar, or they go down in size with it. I do not have them brembos on my car.

Welcome !
You've certainly come to the right place.
There's a vast wealth of experience, ideas & support to tap into.
Nice ride - looks like your off to a good start with the mods.

Thank you Sir. I do believe I have come to the right place. A LOT of bad info when it comes to suspension, and handling on a lot of the other forums, from people who have never put a tire on a track before. I have already been reading though some of the build threads on here.

Always good to see a fellow Washingtonian. I recently sold my 2011 GT. I had a great time with that car.

Any plans to visit The Ridge?

I had a 2007 honda 600RR, that I have had out there(I loved it on the bike). I haven't taken either of my cars out there though. I have been to AutoX's right down the street at the airport in my other car though. Want to get out there this year. Looking for recommendations on a group to sign up with (hooked on driving, or whatnot). I haven't been to Pacific either (except on the GoKart track).

Welcome to TMO and that's a nice looking Mustang. Good luck with your mods. More braking power is a good idea and I really liked the CorteX watts link on my Boss 302. The watts link won't necessarily make you faster but the car will feel more evenly controlled with it installed.

If you're serious about tracking your car, and plan to do it often, be careful with BMR tubular K-Member. It was designed to lighten the car for the drag strip and not designed for the loads associated with serious road course work. The Maximum Motorsports K-Member is better suited for that purpose.

I know what your saying. Honestly I have been a little unhappy with it. Had to deal with a lot of oil pan clearance issues with it. So changing it out it not out of the idea.

If I have learned anything in karting so far, is that when you get a setup you are comfortable with, I normally start to go faster just on the confidence of how the kart feels like “ it’s there for you”.

Very First Thing!! Get some brakes!!! Not much you can do with the OEM speed inhibitors! Can't really call them brakes...... Once you get the LTHs and CJ setup on you will have to be very careful!

Welcome and the only suggestion I would make ( since it is obvious you are bitten) is keep the SVEs and Nittos for the street , and get a wide set of Apex 18 inch rims -- there are so many more tire options in 18s, as well as lower cost over the years. You will find a lot of diehards on here so keep us posted on your track and autocross exploits.

Well, and ditto on the brakes. Also disagree about nothing special, the GT looks great and one seldom sees red any more ,which makes it stand out even better.

I'm partial to this organization - book through Motorsportreg: http://www.turn2lapping.com/
I already looked at them, and I guess I should have read past the first sentence. But I think they should re-word their opening statement, for it made me think it was pro-am, and up only (Turn2 Lapping serves the experienced driver at track events located in the Pacific Northwest. ). I will keep looking into them.

it's funny you should use the term "bitten". I have actually had a (very)small conversation with you when I bought my Woodhouse Motor Mounts a few years back on "another" forum.

If you're run a motorcycle at the Ridge, you're "experienced", which is why I suggested them. They handle beginners too and they have instructors available for hire if you want a brush up. I like them because they're very smoothly run and it's all about safe, fast driving, not rigamarole.
