Model 3 Performance @ Thunderhill

I was at Thunderhill today and saw a Tesla M3 Performance at the track. While they have 240 V available charging is painfully slow with the stock charging cord. We need Superchargers at all NorCal tracks. He was running pretty quick and lasted the first session with no issues. He ran the second session too but there are no superchargers close to the track so he needed to charge the rest of the afternoon so he could make it home. o_O

Agree a supercharger is still needed. If I read the info correctly, the supercharger is a rectification unit which controls the DC current pumped into the car.
With Tesla controlling the use and location of these few (in relative terms) stations. It does not look good for a full track day.
Does anyone make a portable charging unit yet? If not, a low power cell would require a tow. Or am I missing something?

Yea. The gen will kick out A/C 115/230. Then it will need to be rectified, stepped up and clean before hitting the car.
I do know a local guy who has fixed the issue. I installed a small gas turbine in the back of his 1960 Ford Ranch Wagon. Car is electric powered, has a C-4 transmission, power steering etc. A site to see. You do have to watch out for the exhaust.

We had a Telsa Model 3 show up at our local Nebraska Region SCCA Solo Event this Saturday and Sunday ( Saturday was a test and tune day since this is the same site as the Solo Nationals are run in Lincoln,Ne. ) Apparently some of the issues with track use may not show up in a 50+ second run with said machine. Quite a few skeptics were pleasantly surprised at how quick the 3 was and he ended up with a respectable time around 57 seconds . It was impressive watching the launch of the Battery Beast from the starting line. Driver came from Minnesota, so this entailed a stop at a Supercharger Station, which as noted are not heavily populated in the Midwest. Not a reasonable machine for the Midwest at the present time , except for those who can commute shorter distances , but for those who want to track the 3, this may be a venue many can try without the concerns of running out of power like at a road racing circuit?
