Installed Steeda's new 2-pc rotors. It's approximately a 15lb weight loss (total) for the fronts and 4 lbs for the rear. The fronts are a couple pounds heavier per disc compared to Girodiscs, but for $1200 including shipping for all 4 corners, it was a price I could not pass up. They will get their first workout this weekend at Buttonwillow.

Got up early this morning to set up my track alignment for Buttonwillow this weekend. I happened to have the window down as I was maneuvering the car to my alignment spot in the garage and heard the tell tale signs of a rear bearing going out. Jacked up the car to check and sure enough, the LR needed replacement. Ugh... I wish I would have caught this last week when I installed the 2pc rotors and track pads.

Since I didn't have time to wait for a mail order (Tasca $112), I had to go to my local Ford dealer and negotiate a price of $160 for it (they wanted 189!). You can bet I'm going to order another to have ready for when the right side goes.

I just finished installing it and doing my alignment. I posted some pics below of what I found interesting. My car is a 2016 manufactured in March. When I removed the hub I found a very thin washer/shim sandwiched between the hub and axle. It was distorted in an oval shape. The new hub didn't come with this part and I couldn't find a schematic online that showed it either. I contacted the parts guy at Ford and he was perplexed as well. He did mention, however, that the new hub supersedes an older part number. I guess Ford decided this washer/shim was not needed or maybe causing issues?

Anyhow, all is done and I'm ready to pack to leave for the track tomorrow!

I was just about to post the same thing. I just changed my left rear hub and found same thing. But I removed the silver piece. On one video I saw it didn’t have one,the next video did after I removed it. Both videos were CJ pony. I don’t remember seeing that shim when I took hubs off last year to put on longer studs. I only paid 97.51 at my ford dealer06DA05B2-E1FC-4800-9ED6-8B581CB001A8.jpeg11045A03-1CBB-4F9A-9BEE-A96CF961B950.jpegD2CE9AD5-C34D-4A98-B82A-539CB074C034.jpegBF79329F-EBD6-451F-B6AA-1A9F458709C2.jpeg

You had to rub in the price... :p Your shim/washer looks to be in much better shape than mine was. I believe the silver piece is some sort of dust or debris shield. I didn't bother trying to remove it.

What’s your take on the new rotors?

Sorry I missed this. I've been to the track twice since installing the Steeda 2-piece rotors. I didn't have any issues and the fronts seemed run a bit cooler. Even with front brake cooling, I would start to get just a little less bite at the end of a 20 minute session with the stock rotors. I did not encounter this at all in the last two events with the Steeda rotors.
