There are a few track days I'm interested in attending just for the day...drive up, have fun, drive home but, I'd still would like Track insurance. Does anyone know if its possible to get insurance for a one day of an event? I spoke with Hagerty and they price only for the entire weekend.

Thanks

Thanks...good news! The gentleman I spoke to at Hagerty put me on hold for quite a while after I asked the question. Glad he was mistaken.

The one thing I will say for Lockton is they promptly sent someone out to photograph my Boss 302 and were about to write a check when I called off the dogs. USAA covered me under my normal policy in the end, which paid a little better.

Im a bit late here, but when was this? I just called and USAA said anything on a track whether or not competition related was exempted from coverage. Thanks!

The overwhelming number, if not all, of regular car insurance policies will not cover accidents at a track.

That's where these companies specialize and offer policies for one day. Some, such as Ontrack will offer a policy for a 2-day event at the same price. Some will offer a discount if you buy and pay for coverage for 3 or more events in advance.

I use National General and pay a premium to have my cars covered on Track so long as it is HPDE. No TT / W2W of course. The coverage costs roughly $1500 more per year over what a similar geico policy would run, but I have multiple e-mails explaining that they will cover me in any state as if I were on a public road. Hopefully won't have to prove that this is the real deal, but may be worth looking into if you wanted another route!
