No need to recalibrate or load in a different calibration from FP?

Ford GT4 engineers just updated the calibration of the Bosch system. The removal of the restrictor did not affect the cal. The Chief mechanic that supported the VOLT team will be spending 3 days with an assistant to set up the car at my garage. We will be on the track for shakedown. Lots to learn on this car as it's nothing like a street car. I have had it on the track several times. The sequential gearbox is intoxicating.

Looking forward to setting up a nitrogen tank so I can play with the air jacks.

Are you planning to keep the '15 manifold? I think they ran the GT intake to flatten the HP curve and keep the HP to weight ratio in check so they did not have to add a bunch of weight to run in GT4 classes. If your not going to race in GT4 changing the manifold should wake that motor up a bunch on the top end.

The manifold change from a '15 to a '18 on my car was a huge improvement above 5500 RPM.

Let us know your track schedule I would love to come see this thing run. Your spare parts haul is also very impressive. What an awesome setup. Congrats!

@ddozier. I know of several GT4 owners that have put long tube headers, GT 350 intake/throttlebody with a custom Roush Yates tune and they’re able to get an extra 90 HP. I certainly don’t need to abide by any BOP regulations. I’ve talked to several engineers who have said that the extra horsepower output will shorten the life of the engine. Seat time is my priority right now.

What makes this car fun is that the sweet spot for the Hollinger sequential gearbox is close to redline or at redline.

You do have a spare engine! Go for it, 90hp will be fun when your ready for it.

How does this car compare to the two you built? Is it a lot faster?

@VoodooBoss Still doing the shakedown but the biggest difference to me is the lighting fast and VIOLENT shifting of the Holinger! Just getting used to the shifting but its amazing. I dont have a track map and timer set up for the MoTec dash so cant tell how much time I have improved. I am working with MoTec to have them make the map for M1. I was running Aim on my blue car and they had the map on their database.

The GT4 is several hundred pounds lighter compared to my other cars. I'm close to 3,100 dry currently. The "camber plates" are so easy to adjust. I have not played with the dampers yet but they are a little intimidating :).

Bosch ABS is adjustable with a dash knob. I was running ABS off on my last car. Tilton brakes are adjustable and the % front/rear bias shows on the MoTec dash. There is a gauge readout for EVERTHING.

Multimatic and VOLT will provide suspension settings for any track. No need to "trial and error". I also have friends at Ford Performance that work on the GT4 program and have helped me setup the car.

The support from Multimatic and Roush Yates is unbelievable. Terrific reply to all questions. There are Tech Bulletins and updates (constant improvements) that are posted on the Multimatic portal. The support from the prior owners crew is also equally impressive. I have all the history on all the work done to the car as well as the spares.

All the folks helping me with this car makes the ownership experience remarkable.

Not sure what I will do to it over the winter but I may put it back to VOLT IMSA livery for next year.

More feedback as I get more seat time. I dont have my camera setup yet so here is a cool video showing the Holinger: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=265168277763238

Spartan: That is some serious hardware. Amazing stuff.

How many hours before you have to rebuild the Hollinger and cost?

I know the engine is scheduled for rebuild at 6,000 miles. I will ask about the Hollinger. The gearbox was taken apart after every 2 races with no signs of wear. They tell me its a very robust trans.
