Domestic,
Glad to hear how pleased you are with your new set-up and what a big help to many by documenting - great move my friend. On a side note, the Yokohama A052 just got approved by SCCA , so likely it will get an okay up in the Provinces? Tread depth increased to 7/32nds new , so these may be a new sleeper addition to the many choices track rats have for road racing inflated donuts?

Supposedly no other changes, as this was the complaint SCCA hit them with when they introduced the tire model to compete with the other 200 treadwear Manufacturers.

Thx. It's just odd that the old A052 was available in a 265/40-18 that had a 10.0 tread width but the new version is no longer available in that size but they added a 275/40-18 that is 0.2 inches narrower at 9.8.

Too bad they don't offer the 295/35-18 anymore.

Supposedly more sizes will be added but they had to get out the minimum requirements in various ones so that the tire could be okayed for competition now. I would be surprised if they don't add a 295 in the future, as that is a super common size for Autocrossers.

Thanks for sharing, that's a great help to see! Can't see ever going back from 305's so nice to see there are options for coils to keep the same size.

Thanks Bill! That's great to hear about A052 being approved. I imagine our Time Attack regs will follow. 71R's have certainly built a formidable reputation (and I can see why now) so there were so many cars were running them at the first TA of the season over the weekend. It would be nice to have an edge with a different tire. Hopefully they offer 19's soon since I'm stuck with that diameter now!

Remember there are plenty of tires that fudge on the aspect ratios, just look at NASA making it hard to run any 275 except Toyos , since the BFGs or Hoosiers won't fit into their set grid blocks. Can't always believe all you read , ha.

Landed in Philly last Wednesday and ended up having to stay over till Friday due to all the flight cancellations with the rain dumping buckets in your area. Was ready to fly out Friday around noon and was afraid the Sunoco Plant blowing up that morning around 4 am was going to cause another delay? We had a good time staying downtown at the Marriott and did our best to contribute to your economy, ha. I have been to Philly a couple of times, but my wife had not ,and luckily we were only 6 blocks from Ben Franklin's home, the Liberty Bell, etc. so we got us some Merican culchure!!

Bill ya should have told me you were going to be in town! I could have sent the wife somewhere and we could have played around in the garage. Oops I forgot you had the wife....doubt she would have gone for that :p

I happened to be awake at the time, and the big blast shook my house. That's at about 20 miles away in NJ. Didn't think about possible effects on air traffic at the time, but PHL was allowing at least incoming flights within 20 minutes or so (we're near the flight path that flies more or less over the Walt Whitman bridge).

Was not expecting to stay in Philly as the plane was to leave at 8:45 on Wednesday and around 2:15 am on the 20th they cancelled the flight. Next time, though, I will give you a ring around 2 am so I don't have to pay for a Taxi ,ha,ha!?

At my age, there's a decent chance I'll be awake to take that call . . .

Edit: only 2 of the 6/32" tread 295s left on Tire Rack. Also, I think I mis-remembered tire width, but I do recall the 295s running larger than the 11.8" shown on Tire Rack. I'll measure and post a picture.

In other news, they released the 7/32" 315/30/18: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...R8A052V2&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

Not cheap.
