Aren't the Chin Track Days at COTA just one day? Asking , because it seems like they were priced about the same as NASA, but NASA is two days, and for those not wanting to do Time Trials or Race, the HPDE is a perfect way to get plenty of track time.

All the Chin dates I’ve seen for COTA are 2 days. They tend to be a little more expensive than some groups, but in my experience it’s worth it. You get tons of track time and their Intermediate and Advanced groups allow open passing anywhere on track with a point by. The only difference (apart from pace) is that passing in corners/esses is absolutely expected in Advanced and optional in Intermediate. It’s not unusual for Pro teams to participate in Advanced. Their expectation is that no faster car/driver is ever forced to slow down to wait for a pass in Advanced.

Also a nice feature is the last hour of each day is open track under Intermediate passing rules, allowing friends from different run groups to run together and providing up to 3 hours of track time per day.

Sounds good if two days. I guess my suggestion for those on the Forum with racing of Time Trial Licenses, is the NASA event would allow for virtually all members to participate based on their track desires? I know I would love to be able to actually race when I get to COTA, or at least do Time Trials, since the track is a bucket for me, as well as many other trackrats.

The NASA Cinco De Cota has traditionally had a Friday practice available (for Nationals, there was even a Thursday practice as well)

Nice, maybe I’ll drive out with you. We should stay on 6th street in Austin. For the GT350 owners there’s a Voodoo Donuts there too.

Last time I was in town I stayed at Hotel Van Zandt. Great place a few blocks off of the craziness of 6th street but super walkable from there and right outside is a great row of restaurants and bars. You get the best of both.

The Hilton Downtown is also a block off 6th. I'd put it in the mix having stayed there every year attending SXSW for about 6 years now. Big hotel but used to nice cars as part of the valet. I bet they would do a group rate.

I'm always down for COTA! Maybe team up with a Chin Motorsports or Edge Addicts event? Get a "group rate" for TMO members? Then maybe a couple of garages.

About to do our last track event in this car this weekend before it goes up for sale but we're already building another S550 for 2020...

Wait, what dates were discussed for 2019? I'm certainly interested in this, but yes probably more for 2020. 2020 not sure if I'd trailer the car or send it. Throw in a couple HPDE's along the route. Does HOD have a schedule there?

Group TMO dinner at The Saltlick FTW. https://saltlickbbq.com/driftwood/

Big fan of the Saltlick since dining there in 2018. Great stuff.

I will be staying in my track hotel (aka trailer).
