Black Boss ,
I am assuming you are running 19s on the GT 350R Track Monster , but what size Michelins are you running for those that would like to know? I am hoping to run a set of used Michelins on my car, but they would have to be 18s.

Is your car heavy enough that you can take the penalty for slicks and still run ST 2? That is great if you can, I can't get to that position withouth detuning my car or adding more weight, but am wondering if the tires could be worth it?

I'm a little late to the race posting this one :) It was the last time I was able to hit the track before it got too hot. Though I scored a PB, my goal is a sub 2 sec lap time. I know the car is capable. I'm still working on the ins and outs of dialing in the suspension (air pressures, shock settings, sway bars), but it's been a fun experience to learn so far.

The biggest mod needs to be the driver. I'm aggressive out on the track and I think I've come to the conclusion that I'm too aggressive on corner entry which is affecting corner exit speed. I find myself fighting a push going in at times with my (late) braking completed just before entry. I'm just going in too hot.

Near the end of the day I started practicing braking slightly sooner and introducing some trail braking (still learning this) so that I could be more smooth. The push started going away and I noticed my upshift points after corner exit were coming sooner. More speed! What prompted me to practice this was when I had taken a passenger out the prior session. I wasn't being aggressive trying to beat lap times and as a result, I noticed turn in and corner exit was much better.

I'm hoping to hit Buttonwillow in a couple of weeks where I can put some of these new found skills to the test.

Lowered my PB at Mosport to 1:33.4 today. I was incentivized by a minor grudge match with my neighbour as to whether my stock motor 'stang could beat his 2019 911 Porsche. It did. He said it was faster everywhere but especially mentioned braking, I can brake 60-100 feet later than he has to entering the fastest corners.

Nice. I assume is CW13 conf.
I can tell you the car can get at 1. 55. I strongly encourage you to use racers360 if you have a good lap video. Their coaching is amazing.

Yes, you are correct about 13CW. I need to update that.

Video is on my parts list - that and a new clutch. I read your accounts of Racers360 and what it did for you at Big Willow! It's definitely something I'm interested in.

Also for buttonwillow. I use them to see where i can go faster. I think I have 2 sec minimum :) and it was 102f so not the best.

Fantastic time at Mosport!

Thanks Nick. Several thousand laps around that joint since the early 90s will do wonders! This car is really working well at the moment, just seems like everything I throw at it knocks off another half a second or so. And then there's the incentive of trying to knock your buddies $110K car off. A 1:33 was kind of my goal as that's the fastest confirmed time I know of that a street legal GT has done there, that was a Time Attack car, but now I kind of think there's more left, it's still on 220 TW tires.

The thing is so stable and predictable, the Ford track suspension just works so well IMHO. And it's plug and play, no thought required, no fooling around with shock settings, just get in and go fast.

Have a couple of more things to put on it, adding some more hood vents and I have the front forward control arms with the spherical bearings inbound from OPMustang but not likely going to get here in time for the last track day. Next year some more aero, still on the stock splitter and no rear wing, the trunk is bare.

I am not impressed at all , everyone knows Mustangs can't outbrake Porsches ....................ha,ha!! Sounds like the Stang is running great pads, rotors, and the pilot has bigger cajones than his buddy in Das Porch!?

I don't think cajones enter into this one, there's no lack thereof with my buddy when it comes to racing. He's been doing it even longer than I have and has driven just about everything under the sun. I took a 20 year break whereas he has been a consistent track rat since he was old enough to have a racing licence. Pretty sure he was pushing as hard as he could simply because he blew an apex and he never blows apexes.

I've got nothing special for brakes, just the PP1 6 piston brembos, Hawk DTC-50 front and DTC30 rear, OEM Ford rotors(34 lbs apiece on the front!!!). This car just really works well now, it is so stable and forgiving it just gives you a ton of confidence.

And oddly enough I have not had a single axle overheat this year despite going a lot faster, all I did was wrap the rear sections around the pumpkin area and put the hood vents in, engine temps are way down, maybe that helped too? Just such a fun car for track days, for the money it's hard to beat it.

Oh, I know, I just always love the impression folks have that Mustangs will not stop, and frankly Porsche is traditionally thought to have the best brakes in the industry. Congrats and don't sell yourself short, KonaBob already told everyone you are the Mustang Maestro of Mosport!!

Roval is a good time! Scary track thanks to all the walls... I ran track night in america last night with no chicanes and coming into turn one at 150+ with literally 5 foot of runoff before you hit the barrier will make you pucker!
