Good info in the article, but dang, they need to edit better.

"Thought the production versions live in the mid-400 horsepower range, aftermarket versions routinely produce well north of 1,000 horsepower."

"The head bolts were also changed to 11mm versions, which increased the amount of material in this critical area. The head bolts were also upgraded to 11mm versions for added clamping force."
This makes it sound like bolts only went from 10-11-12 when they actually went 11-10-11-12.

And this isn't correct:
"When one piston is at top dead center, its opposing piston is at bottom dead center."

I guess I expect too much from free publications!

Grant, Glad to see you're still around!!!!!!!....I was starting to think someone finally caught up with the pizza master...but they'd have to go thru a bigger wall than that to get those good lookin pies............and your kids would never letem...........

Geez Bobby, it’s like you miss your babysitter! ;) :D

I’d think the fellow retirees would understand! :D

Anyone knows when will be part 2 of this article, I came up with a good "excel" of part number differences between Gen 1 and 2 engines along with those of the F-150 (as I have a gen 2 pickup engine going in my fox body) and also the Boss302. I am curious to see what they will say about the differences in the platform variant of the engine!
