First off, in GT1 Ernie Francis won, with pretty much the entire field being taken out by a guy who left an oil trail around the entire track, this beautiful Roush Mustang owned by Ave racing family was seriously beat up.

the pics of the nose coming home gives you an idea of that carnage, the car is completely rebuildable, and will be back.

In GT2 the new Phoenix C7 Corvette was a rocket, finishing in first place, this car can actually make the weight break unlike the GT1 Mustang from last year.

In T1, AJ put the "superstang" on the pole, it was pouring rain at race time, and he led the entire race...until 2 laps from the end, when the engine went off song..(maybe a timing chain issue) he had a 30 second lead over the high zoot Porsche, in fact he even led the white flag lap, and was only passed at the end of the last lap, the Mustang still came home second.

In T3 Marshall was unable to defend his national championship after sitting on the pole, in his 4.6 , 3 valve car, but not for lack of trying after the car ran out of tires..

Those S197 Mustangs just keep on winning, or almost anyway. Congratulations @ajaquilante!

Great results all around, sad to hear about the T1 race but sometimes luck will have other plans. Really cool to see the C7 get results! I wasn't able to watch the live streams this year but I'll be watching the replays this week.

I travel race with one of the GT-1 guys and race in T1 and T2. I have made all the Runoffs since 2013 except this one at VIR because my Vette got taken out at Sebring majors. The GT-1 race should have never started since the track was unsafe as Baucom oiled the entire track. Baucom also did not turn a lap before the race yet was allowed to start the race at the end. He also ignored the meatball flags. There are some very made GT1 competitors!

Blacksheep did you race the runoffs this year? What class?

I didn't, I work for Phoenix Performance, they had 9 under the tent, 5 house cars and 4 customer cars, then we support about 8 more on the side, that are not my direct responsibility.

Then you are royalty! For those that don't know Phoenix wins everything with the best prepped cars in the paddock. I may have met you. I emailed Joe sunday to ask if you guys had a package for sale for the 2015+ mustang GT, shocks springs fuel test port restrictor plate etc. But I haven't hear back. He might be a bit burnt out after Runoffs. So I have been figuring all this stuff out. I got the fuel adapter ordered and I can grind out a restrictor but it is easier to buy it. Shocks and springs geeze there are too many to chose from.

My car stock at my 1st trackday to see what the GT will do does exactly this drama as displayed from Probst's lap, and I don't like it.

I need smooth and precise no drama like the C5 corvette. If you got ideas on how to do that within the T2 class rules I'm all ears. I was hoping to just buy the GT PP1 throw a cage in and be mid-pak. But there is no chance of that.

I don't know about that "royalty" thing..Joe may have an S550 T2 ready to go, they developed one a few years ago and they might still have it.

Too bad I already have a car so I have to build what I got. I can't remember seeing any Pheonix guys running an S550 on track but I do only see you guys at Runoffs and every other year when I race Eastcoast. Isn't Kurt and Nicole running S197?

Maybe Joe will sell parts of the developed T2 S550 if they are not running it or sell me what to put in my car. In the meantime I'm slogging through it.

Marshall and Nicole are running S197s in T3..which is a great class if you are going to build a car, it won't run you out of house and home.
The S550 was yellow and ran at Indy, driven by Kurt in T2..as I recall.
