Does anyone keep up with wet laps?

VIR Full, 2:42.28. Very wet track, 2013 V6 Mustang

255/40/19 Continental Extreme Contact Sports, 9/32 tread.

Harrys lap timer has a glitch where it just stops recording now. It stopped before the good lap.

Finally, after 3 years I made it back to Barber just in time to try out the new pavement before the end of the season. The surface is smooth and it drives like COTA did when it was new pavement. The surface has decent grip but is dusty in places and not quite the peak grip it will have next year after the track is seasoned a bit. I had a hard time braking at the limits, thank goodness for ABS. There are a few dips and undulations in the surface that I do not remember from before the repaving. The traffic was crazy as they may have overbooked the sessions a bit. After the first day I felt like there was a mid 1:36.xx in the car but I was not able to bust into the 36's. Always one of the funnest tracks Barber continues to be one of the best maintained and professional level track facilities in the country, If you have not gone you should. (PS.... bring your Dramamine)

Sorry for the video quality, the sun was brutally low and the camera was having a rough time with it.

LOL.... I need Dramamine at Laguna Seca. I discovered the first time there that the corkscrew makes me nauseous!

Dave, how is that "Stock 5.0" revving to 7500 RPM's?

Well my understanding is when you tune for long tube headers and other exhaust changes you can set the redline to any value you want, mine is set to 7800 but I try and shift before 7200. I am not sure how tuning a car for bolt-ons means it is no longer a "Stock 5.0". I listed the pertinent changes made to the car in my posting and while I did not list the tune as a modification I guess for clarity I could have. From my perspective a "Stock 5.0" is an un-opened OEM bottom end and heads, once you start changing the inside parts it is not so stock anymore. I have edited my original post for clarity. Oh, in case it matters I also changed the oil pan and added an oil cooler.

Also as a matter of clarity according to the data for that lap there are only two events where the car exceeds 7200 RPM, between turn 1 and 2 on a 4th to 3rd downshift and I mechanically rev the engine to 7240, and while cresting the hill at turn 13 where the car reaches 7225 RPM in 3rd gear. All up-shifts happen below 7100 RPM during the run.

Hey Dave, I hope you didn't think I was challenging you about that. I was just having some fun. I knew you obviously had to have a tune. I've followed what you have done as I am a fan! :)

Lol. U aware about the 103db day at laguna balck Friday?

Seriously? That would beat having to run my ugly Laguna pipes and short shifting before the sound booth.

A track milestone was achieved, I'm running competitive Time Trials now with NASA on a provisional license.

Harry's Lap Timer was within hundredths most laps. So the nitty gritty, then videos and evidence
