A few winter projects:
Working on straightening the left rear axle tube, and going through an gear change (3.55 from 3.73) trying to get more legs out of 3rd, 4th and 5th at my home track.

She asked "Why can't you drive the Mustang to work today?"

And working on boxing in the radiator and oil cooler. Not as good as some you see on TMO that are almost museum quality, but I think it will work... Still have to get the bottom and sides of the radiator in.

Im supposed to be studying today, but keep screwing off <largely on this site>. One of my new 6 Pot calipers arrived. The other in theory today. Rotors and pads ordered last night. Hopefully is all arrives, I can finish my mid-term next weekend and start taking pictures of the progress. No play allowed till school work is done.

As someone here said, the stock S197 pads vs the S550 6 pot sizes are definitely comical.

Love it, funksouljon - work before play makes play so much better!

Well if you have torqued nuts don't lug it around Big Willow, I hear she can be a wicked mistress and her curves can be a killer. Don't let her sweep you off your feet.

Out with the old….Original Calipers that needed this rebuild badly.

In with the new…rebuild kit from racingbrake.com plus adding girodisc.com titanium shields once pads go back in and calipers goes back on. Calipers to be painted next week, gloss black with new sky blue Brembo Decals.

btw: this is the first time I did my own work, learning a lot and making it right versus sending it to my shop.

Started my clutch replacement this afternoon. The exhaust, starter and drive shaft are out. I have two more bell housing bolts to go before I drop the trans out the bottom.

My Pony broke out of the barn today with unbridled spring fever ! Took her for a rip and was not disappointed with the 305x30 square set up I installed this winter. Still a bit cool out and got wheel spin thru most of 3rd gear jumping onto the hwy but the on / off ramp corners are a blast now. -3 degree camber, 305/30x19's makes a world of difference for a relatively stock Boss!!
Next stop Shannonville Motorsport Park in May!.

wheel.jpgwheel1.jpg Braelin Wheels. Cause they are 45mm offset I only need a 10 mil. spacer up front. Clears the Brembo's no problem. No spacers on the back and slight poke but they fit really well. They are a little heavy but for what I am doing they will be fine. They look really strong...... time will tell.......I will let you know how they hold up !!

What an interesting wheel, had never seen or heard of that company. From the first 2 pictures you posted, they almost look like a modern Minilite (which to me would be the Holy Grail of wheels to give the modern Boss that Parnelli Jones 1970 look!). It's always fun to see new stuff.

It's a Canadian Co. ( via China I'm sure ) but free shipping, not expensive and available.
As much as I would like Apex Wheels by the time I ship them here with US $ plus duty .......the price gets outrageous!

If somebody was smart or enterprising at Apex or Signature they would open an Aussie subsidiary and help the fun guys down under. Signature does their wheels in Taiwan and I think the flow formed Apex may be done there also, but just think if you opened a single source in Sydney, Melbourne , Brisbane, or Coober Pedy, and sold wheels around the Country without shipping to the US first ------hmmm. Sounds too sensible doesn't it, ha.

Now for our neighbors up North in Canada, they really get screwed with so much stuff just South of the Border and they get hammered with value added taxes on top of other taxes. You have to be enterprising like Carver and I have to admit that wheel looks pretty damn stout on his Redheaded track mistress!

Ran the 1st autocross of the year today. Finished 3rd in my class, Cam-C, only three of us! Cold, 48 degrees to start, sprinkles, cloudy and blustery winds. Tire are shot or they don't like cold temps, shook off the cobwebs from a long winter. Time to get some new rubber installed and toss on a few other parts I have collected.
Took Billy Johnson's advice and thru a extension on the MGW, a 3" extension was the quick fix, I like it, looks a little funny but who cares, seemed to get my gear changes done a little cleaner. Ran with the Corvette club today and they set up a nice fast course.
