    New guy needs help.Suspension questions

Actually the MM K-member is great for the road. It's more the spherical bushings in the rear control arms and panhard, that transmit the rough road harshness. The MM k-member is built for those springs or a good quality coilover setup, as it's main goal is handling for competition use, but...

    New guy needs help.Suspension questions

Hi and welcome, I have everything in that MM Road and Track kit, but opted for MMs Bilstein Struts instead of the Konis and use Vorshlag Camber plates instead (mostly for the billet upper spring perch). I also have MMs complete K-member and bracing with rad support. Is it daily driveable...

RE71R - Competition Tire Pressures - Track and Autoslalom

Initially, when I first ran the tires, to get the initial range of pressures to work with. However, by the end of the season, the changes in tire pressure i was making didn't affect rollover noticeably yet made a huge difference in times.

RE71R - Competition Tire Pressures - Track and Autoslalom

Thanks Blacksheep and Dave W. Good thing to know about the "heat across", since I thought it would be a relevant indicator of contact patch. Unfortunately, I did use an IR temp indicator, so the temps may have not been the greatest data set. Good thing to note about using the "hots" to...

RE71R - Competition Tire Pressures - Track and Autoslalom

For those with RE71Rs So I am involved in both Regional Track and Autoslalom events and have been experimenting with different tire pressure setups this past season. I've always felt the need to run higher pressures for Autoslalom vs. track to take into account temperature increases during...

Aluminum 1 piece driveshaft - experiences good/bad/ugly by brand?

I've had the FRPP aluminum driveshaft for years now. I am lowered 2" all around with Maximum Motorsports Road and Track springs. Driveshaft works perfectly and never experience any problems. Never hit the tunnel either. Not sure how low you'd have to be to experience that issue.

Which oil to use for track days for 2011 Mustang GT?

FWIW 2011 Mustang GT - Track Package Owned it since July 2010 152K (kms) - Runs like new; compression is still according to spec; dynos +/- 5 hp/tq from first dyno run in 2010. No out of the ordinary oil consumption during track/autoslalom events (but religiously check before each event)...

For all considering 305-wide tires w/ stock suspension

One of our supporting vendors, Optimum Performance (see banner on the right) offers open lug nuts that I personally use on my car. I purchased their matte black ones to match my Apex EC-7s and they've held-up best against my impact wrench without any rounding of the flat surfaces, like others.

Need your Advice - S197 Suspension Upgrades

I would also recommend a simplified (more street) version of my setup: - I am basically leaving out my Maximum Motorsports K-member; MM Radiator support beams, MM bumpsteer kit Maximum Motorsports: Maximum Motorsports Road and Track Springs (higher spring rate, but not uncomfortable...

For all considering 305-wide tires w/ stock suspension

Hey KRyn, I actually do both track (Time Attack) and Regional Autoslalom. To answer your question, would also depend on the course you're on (lot or airfield), but also your final drive. I experience the same thing, and I found that with my 3.73 final drive, and keeping a 27" diameter...

    Engine cooling

Somewhat related question. For those using a 3-pass radiator, did you need to upgrade the water pump?

What did you do to your Boss 302 or S197 today?

Installed FRPP one piece aluminum driveshaft. Car has more jump with throttle. Kind of amplifies the little sounds, but hey it’s aluminum, and I like those sounds anyway.

What did you do to your Boss 302 or S197 today?

Pics as requested. Currently in the middle of rebuilding for Regional Autoslalom and Time Attack duties. Still waiting for my Maximum Motorsports Radiator Support and respective K-member brackets, before installing the MM K-member. Aiming for the end of the month. In the meantime, Blowfish...

Advice for Road Course Rims/ Tires

This is great info! New here as well. As part of my rebuild, I've already installed the longer ARP studs and have the respective lugs. Being able to use 315/30/18 Rivals square with the EC-7 is great news (Budgeting that wheel and tire combo to complete the build). I do have 2 questions...

What did you do to your Boss 302 or S197 today?

Hi All, "New" here. In quotes, since I've signed up for a while and everyone's posts here have been a great resource for my track build. My 2011 GT over the past year, has seen a full rear-end build using a T2R torsen diff, with stouter axles and bearings, while I am still in the midst of...
