Favorite way to compress a McPherson strut?

I use the same set as TMSBOSS, only I use 2 sets on the spring, I feel a lot safer with 4 bolts caging the spring rather than just two bolts. Less chance for the spring to slip out and do some serious damage, lots of stored energy. You can reposition a pair of bolts while the other pair holds...

Ford vs Ferrari Movie Release Date: November 15th!

Went to see the film with my brother. It was great, we grew up in the sixties and the Ford GT was my favorite car, probably have a half dozen models of the different versions. Building a kit car version still lingers in the back of my mind or maybe a new Corvette? Mid-engine has been my dream...

Quickjack BL-5000SLX on sale at Home Depot -- $1099

Great product, I have the 7000 lb model. My 2018 F150 Super Crew is up in the air right now getting an oil change and tire rotation. Works great on the Boss too! Got to run the Boss up on some blocks to get the lifts under the car. Not an issue with the F150 4x4.

Bleeding Brakes - When do Bubbles Stop?

Thanks for the reply ArizonaBoss, was not a rhetorical question, just looking for a recommendation for what works and what doesn't. As it has been said before this gang of racers saves us less experienced folk from wasting funds on stuff that doesn't work.;)

Bleeding Brakes - When do Bubbles Stop?

Who makes or sells a quality speed bleeder? I back the bleeder screws nearly all the way out and coat it with anti-seize compound. This usually keeps air from traveling down the threads, also keeps bleeders working for years.:)

OUT THERE ON THE FRINGE OF INTERESTS - 1959 THUNDERBIRD RACER

Poor T-Bird, Ford really blew it, the square bird sold well but the two seater still got all the love. I worked in a T-Bird junkyard for about six years. The farmer I worked for had a collection of T-Birds and I would go to the local junkyard to get parts we needed. The junkyard hated pulling...

    Rear Gear NVH

Any thought of reinstalling the original driveshaft back in it? Or pulling the u-joints on the carbon shaft. I had a car that had a vibration, started at 65 and quit at 70mph. Pulled the drive shaft, could feel anything wrong, pop the joints apart, looked fine, put some fresh grease in...

    Rear Gear NVH

You want your u-joint angles to cancel each other out as close to exactly as you can get.

    Rear Gear NVH

You want to get the angles to match, and you are close. The 1 degree operating angle is for the individual joints. You don't want a joint operating at zero degrees, it needs to move some to keep the needle bearings moving. At zero angle you will develop flat spots and grooves in the joints and...

I'll take the driveshaft, I would guess shipping shouldn't be to bad from Omaha to Burnsville, MN. I thru some numbers in UPS and it looked like $60 should cover it. I don't need it any faster than ordinary ground. I open to what you had in mind for shipping as it looks like you will have plenty...

Exedy clutch and flywheel install question

You do NOT  pull a flywheel on with the bolts!!! A .007" smaller hole is not going to work. You will screw up the crank and flywheel.
