David's GT500 was flying down the Shift Sector/Neverlift half mile a couple weeks ago with 19x10" SM-10 wheels up front. With over 900 whp on tap, he needed all the help he could get to slow the big girl down and only relied on the best.

Check out all of our 19" SM-10 wheels on sale through the end of this month: https://www.apexraceparts.com/wheels/mustang-wheels.html?apex_wheel_model=164

Kind of a tangent question to the group- Are race tires running the same prices (comperable) of- say 18x10 305's vs 19x10 305's? I have a set of the Apex 18x11's and was pondering a second set of wheels and debating moving up a diameter to 19x11 or 19x11.5's but not sure of I'd have more choice staying 18" world.

For those that may be curious, I run a full Cortex set up on my GT500 and able to run 11's square now w/ a tiny front spacer and the rear bracket / bump stop mod.

Options for slicks (Hoosiers, Pirelli takeoffes, Continental surplus/discontinued tires) = good 18" selection.

Newer wide fast street tires (Goodyear Supercar 3R, Hankook RS4, Bridgestone RE71) = better in 19s (305/30/19s)

Take your pick.

Yeah this pretty much sums it up. It really depends on your definition of race tire. If you are class restricted to a 200TW setup, 19" is definitely the way to go. You have those tires mentioned above, plus some R comp options like the Nitto NT01 and Sport Cup 2, among others. The only two solid 18" R comps or 200TW tires that come to mind are the 305/35-18 NT01 and the 295/40-18 Hankook RS4 (too tall for some).

As an added bonus, our 19" SM-10 wheels come in at a very comparable weight to our 18" EC-7s :)

Cory, can I make a plug for some face 3 18x11s SM10s? Curious to see how much lighter they'd be than EC7s and I like the knurled beads. I'm sad the et52 18x11 EC7s didn't make the cut for face 3. Would have looked cool.

I'll be a tool while I'm at it and request some et58-60 18x12s too. ;) Can run them with a 25mm spacer on the front of Cortex offset struts.

How's your forged lineup coming along? Any timeline on it? I'm about to pull the trigger on another set of 18x12s... unless I shouldn't

Good news on the 200tw 18" tire front. The new Advan A052 (which may be faster than the RE71R) will come in the following sizes... 275/40R18, 295/30R18, 295/35R18 and 315/30R18. I plan to run the new A052 when I get a set of 18x11 EC7s.

More Bronze wheels are coming!! 19x10" ET40 and 19x11" ET52 EC-7 wheels are both receiving some finish additions to the lineup and we couldn't be more pleased. Act now to save 10% on them through our pre-order. First batch should be completed around the end of July so get them before they are sold out!

Carl's 2014 GT is looking killer on our 18x11" ET52 setup. Be like Carl :)

More and more SM-10 wheels have been heading out the door lately. Doris from Women Driven recently put this R spec staggered setup on her GT350 and wrapped them in Goodyear Supercar 3R tires that are ready to hit the track.

19x11" ET26 front with 305/30-19
19x11.5" ET56 rear with 325/30-19

Threadjack- Apex 18x12's? set up square w/ 25mm spacers on a S197?

That's what I run now, but I think 18x12s would be a pretty small segment for Apex to push.

To make 12s work, I used offset struts up front. The back has OEM configured shocks+springs/Watts link/bump stop bracket mod.

Unlike 18x11s, 12s take some mod work and you have to hack a Cortex setup together/apart to get the room up front. Tires fit under the fenders though and I think there's room for 13s with 335s in front. 13s in the back will poke and may take a fender pull to look okay.

I have the full Cortex set up and recently cut the back bump stops and did the relocation mod. I now run Apex 18x11's square with 15mm spacers rolling Pirelli 315's.

Aways hunting for more grip.... Are you going to the 7/3 Sonoma or MiniNats?

Nothing on the books for now. Hoping to get to something in the next month or two.

Wider wheels are something we've always had on the back burner for Mustangs, but it just has never seemed to carry much of a demand. There is certainly the potential for wider 18" fitments in the Forged lineup, which is still underway. Slowly but surely they will get here. I know the delays are a bit annoying but we simply want to bring the best product to market that we can, and unfortunately that means a longer time to deliver.
