You guys are assuming that the current Boss 302's will appreciate like the originals. That's not a bet I'd be willing to take for many reasons. The biggest reason is you won't have many baby boomers interested in running up the prices in 20-40 years like they have been doing and continue to do. Not to mention many other economic factors that can't be predicted. What I would bet on is that the future value of $50K will be worth more than the extra value of having the #1 2013 Boss 302 will bring in any given time period at least five years out. In other words like my grandfather used to say one in the hand is better than two in the bush. ;)

+1000 You can't compare. The 60's cars were beat on and sent to become razor blades. The few that remain are worth $$$$. The cars of today are built to last longer and thousands are being kept as low mileage weekend drivers or garage queens. In the future there will be more than enough cars for any collector interested in buying one.

IMHO!

Drive'um, have fun, why pay all this money for someone else's enjoyment after you're dead!

Congrats Kato! I am amazed like last year how long it took for #1 to land somewhere. I wondered if they held it for some reason, like really inspected the heck out of it to make sure it is just right.

You seem really attached to it after 25 years of waiting and I think you would probably regret it if you sold it. Also, I thought of the same thing if I had gotten #1, to drive it and not really lose any money if you did decide to sell.

Can't wait to see more picks.

Brian

Thanks, Batman. You are right about regretting it if I sell. Pretty sure it is going to stay right here unless someone throws ridiculous money at me.

The pics are coming but we have a snow storm here today so the pics will have to wait for warmer weather. I really was looking forward to taking it out this weekend. Sometimes our weather is a real pain.

Bummer! Here's to wishing you warmer weather soon and a good rain to wash off the road salt!

I still don't have my Boss (ugh) but hearing from Kato made my day. So happy this car ended in the hands of a true fan.

Hopefully tomorrow Jeff. You thought maybe Saturday right. I look forward to some pics.

This car was ordered because of a 1970 Grabber Blue Boss 302 that pulled up beside me at a light about 25 years ago. The awesome sound and look of that car has been stuck in my mind ever since. It was my all time favorite car until 2013.

Where did you buy it from

Ordered at Cam Clark Ford in Airdrie, AB
Do you have one on order?
no i bought a 2012 and only have 700km on it, i also live in calgary so maybe i will see you around.

I have yet to see a Boss on the road. I think the people that have them around here are the same as you and don't take them out much.

I'll keep my eye out. What colour is yours?

Nobody KNOWS it but hey, it's fairly likely that these cars will be gaining value. It's all in the numbers. There's only 3000 or so for both styles ('12 and '13) and after this they'll probably never be made again. I'm sure people will make 'clones' but there will only 6000-7000 'real' Bosses out there. That's really not a lot on a planet with 7 billion people on it that might want one at some point.

It is orange and it has the plate red key. I will be going to the thurs evening meets at the casino off glenmore a lot this year. Last year there were 3 or 4 Bosses that would show up. You should bring it next week

Wow! Didn't mean to "piss you off" and not sure why it does! It sure doesn't "piss me off" that you think they will! :)

I'm going by recent car history and not a single American muscle car, that I am aware of, made since 1980 has any seen any large appreciation. For example, in the Mustang space we've had the 1979 Pace Car, 20th Anniversary Mustang, Hertz GTH, Shelby GT500, Shelby GT and not one of them is worth anywhere near what people said they would at this point, most not even close to what they originally sold for!

I'm not trying to "piss you off" just give MY opinion on a comment that was made and that shouldn't be an issue here. It's MY opinion that if these cars are ever worth the silly money some of the 60's cars are worth I'll be LONG dead and gone and I'm pretty young! That's MY expectation...never mind a car is a BAD investment and if people are not driving them because they think they'll be worth something one day, your just saving the fun for the next owner!

I'll only leave you with this story. A number of years ago I went to a car show where I saw a real 1965 Shelby GT350. On the engine was a sign that read "Original Paint, Original Interior, Original Owner". There I met a great older gentleman in his 70's who bought the car new in 1965. We sat and he took me through a stack of photo albums of all the things he had done and places he had been with the car over the 45 years. He glowed about the car and the 200K miles on it. When I asked him how much the car was worth he just laughed and said that though the years he had been offered all kinds of money for it but didn't care. Then he said something I never forgot, "I didn't buy the car so someone could make money off it at some auction after I die. I bought it for me. I hope they're swearing my name when I'm gone that I drove the car too much!". He told me life was too short not to enjoy what it brings you and that what ever you think tomorrow may bring one day tomorrow won't come.

So again, didn't mean to "piss you off" just giving my perspective...I respect yours...I hope you can respect mine. Let's chat again in 20 years and the looser buys the beer! ;D

1979 Pace Car, 20th Anniversary Mustang, Hertz GTH, Shelby GT500, Shelby GT.....These cars , some, are serial numbered but not limited..the one you left out is the Bullet editions, which you will see carry more value than the crop of the mass produced cars listed...None of the prior have the lineage that theses Boss's have......I'm not saying they will be a fortune but they very well COULD increase.......What is pissing me off is the guessing game being played to convince others with limited knowledge what to do with their car. If I was directly asked what my perspective was it would lead off with I don't know.........not what i hoped, thought or what grandpa said........BTW.....I drink Michelob .........no hard feelings........maybe pissing me off was wrong........how about rubbing me the wrong way.........I'd be glad to sit and drink a beer with ya.....and we aint gotta wait 20 yrs......we both enjoy the same thing! :)

There will be 8000 give or take 2012-2013 Boss 302's. So one in every 20 MY2012 OR MY2013 Mustangs will be a Boss, maybe even more like one in 18.

I would love to think my car will be worth more then what I paid even if the the dollar is worth 50% less when the time comes but I think all we need to do is ask the early Shelby owners how well it has worked out for them. With few exceptions cars are a bad investment.

I think 2013 #0001 should stay in Canada with it's original owner, Kato64. The signs are there....loss of warranty if it crosses the border....can't be sold for 6 months.......Like Kato64 stated, unless he's offered boogaloo bucks, he should keep his Grabber Blue Baby.

THAT we can agree on! :D

I dunno I can agree on the Michelob ;D

But a Bosses and Beers night could be fun. Just not too many, sleeping in the Recaros isn't so comfortable

I was thinking of going to that one. Obviously, it will depend on weather but if not next week I'm sure I'll see you there sometime this year.

No one knows if these will be worth more one day.
But I paid 18k for a 1970 Boss, and had to sell it three years later in 1999 I got 30K for it, try to buy one now for 30k. It had 57k original mils on it. Wish I had it now.
Lots of people wish they had one of these 12, or 13, same as in 1969, 1970, so we are fortunate to have one even if they are not rare, or going to be worth more later.
Took me 30 yrs to get one, and then had to let her go.
Got a new one now, and hope I do not have to sell it.
