Beautiful machine and great price. Makes one wonder why you would want to run Spec Miata when you could have a Blue Oval Beast for the same price or less!!! Good luck with your Sale and very , very interesting garage ---- way too many mistresses in there to choose a favorite, ha.

Yes Bill I agree. This is a great car to get inexpensive seat time in. Only advantage those darn Spec Miatas have is the size of their race fields. But, hopefully Spec Iron keeps growing as it has in the last several years.

This could be an Interesting alternative for me as I consider how much further I want to take my 13 LS beyond novice-intermediate level HPDE. Next round of spending on the Boss is safety and your car has all that done plus I don’t need to consider the reversing of those mods which I would keep in mind on the Boss. I’m not ready for W2W but this seems ready to start gaining seat time and maybe a competition license to at least do TT. I need to learn Spec Iron rules, are brakes upgrades allowed?

Hello Boss4me-
I love the Boss LS. Would love to drive one of those someday:)

I do think this 06 GT would be a great car to get seat time and do it in about as safe and on the cheap as anyone could. I race vintage race cars which I love but it is expensive and they are a lot of maintenance. I invested into this Mustang GT as an inexpensive and easy to run practice car but have realized I’ll never really have the time to use it as I thought I would have. You are right that the hard and expensive stuff to make a true race car is already done on this 06 GT.
I believe The Spec Iron cars all run the same brake setup which is good because it keeps everyone even. To make this a legal Spec Iron car is pretty simple and is all bolt on mods from here on it. Hard part is done. But that could definitely be done gradually over time as you move up in experience. Spec Iron classes within the American Iron NASA series is growing and there is a good group of people and cars in that class. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks

Thanks Doug, I may be entering first round of negotiations here at home. Need to know how deep the “if you buy that then I need this” water is going to be. Hopefully this year we will relocate to Western Michigan and Ginger-man will be 10 miles from the new home.
