2012 Boss 302 Clutch Replacement Recommendations

I have had 2 clutches installed in my Boss by one of the best Mustang shops in Texas and each time they had to do the re-learn. I am not sure that it can be avoided. Car goes into limp mode first time you go WOT with the new clutch.

So as long as I don’t disturb the stock pulse ring it should not need a relearn. Is it possible to change a clutch and flywheel without disturbing the pulse ring?

Thanks for the information. What aftermarket scan tool can do the re-learn procedure correctly?

I did mine several times with the SCT x4

Told the shop that did my install to do the relearn process when finished, they thought it would not need to be done as the pulse ring didn't move......as I was leaving the shop check engine light came on and went into limp mode.....do the relearn process....

what pilot bearing puller are you guys using?

I am assuming everyone is using the Ford Performance pilot bearing for $13? They also have a heavy load bearing for $19...cant find a difference though.

anyone local in AZ want to give me a hand installing my clutch?

Yes indeed - the Hyper Single is #1 on my short list; the SBC offerings caught my attention - had never heard of them before. Thanks for the input, cheers.
