Pete (or anyone who's changed out their grill),
How did you end up removing your front grill? Did you have to take off the bumper? Would appreciate any tips so I don't end up scratching the bumper or breaking any pins..
Thanks..

No its much easier than that. There are 8 pop up plastic pins that hold the plastic shroud over the radiator. 4 front and 4rear. Pop them up and remove. Once you get that off you have access to the plastic tabs that hold the grille on.

I also remove the two 8mm bolts but may not be necessary. Then use a flat screwdriver (taped to protect paint) and push the two tabs on each side until you can pull the grille loose from that side. The bottom tabs just slide right out once you unhook the sides.

I'll be ordering the CJ grille this week. One advantage for the white striped cars is it comes painted white.

Rick,
I got my 302s grill yesterday and my LS spoiler is on the way (you convinced me). Gonna paint both white (hp)!!! Can't wait. I think the two toned look will be awesome..
Cool, but wait, did you see this? ;D

Thanks guys. Glad to hear that it won't be too complicated... ;D
Yep it's pretty straightforward which is a good thing since I've had to do it at the track a few times between sessions. 10 minutes tops incentive you do it one time.

When looking for something elese, I ran across these pictures from the 302s build. It shows some diverter plates to help channel the air to the radiator and the one the right appears to be curved to the inside of the open fog light hole to channel air to the intake box opening. I have been reading this thread and many others about cooling, and dont recall seeing these parts. There was one mention about making something similar. Does anyone know if they are available from Ford?

Heres a link to the orginal article I saw:
http://www.stangtv.com/event-coverage/road-racing/behind-the-scenes-at-ford-for-a-boss-302s-mustang-master-build/

looking at a few others they all show the same parts installed, and it appears to go below the bumper cover. I don't think its an assy. fixture.

Pony emblem delete alert !! The Ford marketing will be calling you shortly ;D

$6995 LS option / 765 LS produced (give or take) = 9.14, Hence to add that emblem I believe you owe us LS owners $9.14 apiece... ;D

If it's functional and aids in cooling we need to find the part number. Unless it's already installed on our cars.

Yessiree Ricky Bobby. If he puts that on his tail the spirit of Larry Shinoda will follow him to each track event till the end of time.....

Why are my lug nuts always getting loose? I could SWEAR I had a full tank of gas when it started this run.... Why does no one else seems to even see that patch of oil on turn 7 besides me? Did any see my helmet anywhere, I seemed to have misplaced it and my run is coming up in 1 minute! Who replaced my brake fluid with nitro methane?

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
