I saw a ZL1 yesterday across the street from my apartment. I was on my way to class so no time to take a closer look. It was gone by the time I got back home
Probably recalled .........or just rusted away!

Hi guys: This is my first post. Been looking at Boss 302's for a while and read with interest the MT article. My read on the test results is that had the Boss had better brake pads the results might have been different. Thats an easy fix and clearly could account for 2 seconds a lap difference if Probst was going deeper before braking with the ZL1 due to stronger brakes.

Just a newbies observations.

From a historical perspective the Boss and ZL1 were never competitors with the ZL1 being sporting a big block 427 with aluminum heads. The true competitor for the Boss was the Z28 or the 1LE/SLP Camaro but even that has a bigger displacment motor.
Seems like the Camaro guys are were all excited over a Camaro with a larger supercharged engine and more sophisticated suspension running a lap 2 seconds faster then a Boss where new or better brake pads would likely have erased that 2 second per lap difference and continued laps would have had the ZL1 fighting heat soak.

It also seemed that the 2013 GT500 needed better brakes to also top the ZL1. Another easy fix. Not bad for straight axle cars!!!
Just say'n.
