While Ford did make improvements in the shifter assembly for the 2015 Mustang, it still leaves room for improvement. They changed the box to make the trans mount arm part of the shifter box, which better controls the box's "clocking". This will all but eliminate the 1-2 gate nibble issues of the past, but it is still a semi-remote mount design that will twist and misalign under hard loads. The only way to ensure repeatable shifting is by detaching the shifter from the body.
