2021 GT500 Wing Extension

I have a 2021 GT500 CFTP car that is basically full-time road course duty. Is there any benefit in raising the wing? Will that provide more downforce?

Fathouse Fab has these risers for sale is why I'm asking.

Anyone tried the Fathouse Fab risers?

Thanks!
I had similar risers machined for my similar APR wing on the 21 Car. The idea is to get the wing out of the turbulent flow near the decklid. I have no empirical data that it works but most race wings are mounted as high above the bodywork as legally allowed by rules. @AJ Hartman would know better.

Yes, it will. That wing profile was copied from the gt4 wing which was mounted higher originally. Mine is a the andersen compositie copy, using the high mounts. With the gurney lip (a now unobtatnium archetype piece), it makes enough DF to buckle the steel trunklid, and gives my car a noticeable aero understeer balance.

If you can get the uprights you have scanned and give me the dimensions you want I could get the made for a few hundred cheaper than the cost on the site.

Wow, good info, thanks! I'll take a closer look next time at the track.

Not sure what your rules set is, or even if there is any, but 2 things you need to be aware of.
1. the wing cannot be higher than the roof line of the car. (they measure this with a level and straightedge)
2. the wing cannot be farther back that the bodywork of the car (they measure this by dropping a weighted string from the rear edge of the wing).
One team I worked for got kicked off the pole for violating #2 by about a 1/16th of an inch, after pushing the car forward on the wing struts and pulling in back by grabbing the bodywork while the tech officials were trying to get it straight on the scales...kinda sucked but rules are rules and that's the way the it went.
