New location this year?

Rick,

The Blackhawk in Danville has been a great partner and host for the past 4 years. But attendance has grown which required us to split the vehicle entries on the upper and lower plazas. Further complicating preferred parking, the Behring Foundation installed several large wildlife statues on the upper plaza and that created problems. As a result, we're moving the event to the Cobra Experience facility in Martinez. If you've never been there, it's a shrine to all things Carroll Shelby, packed with many original Ford performance vehicles from the 60's - including several race cars. Perhaps you can join us this year.

Best,

Jim

Carroll Shelby was truly a lucky guy to be involved in all his driving adventures thru out his time. Did you ever notice that in all his photos he is always smiling? I would be too, if I were in his shoes! I'm sure he can't wait for the new GT500, looking down from upstairs.............

Never made it out to the Cobra Experience yet so this'll be a perfect chance. I'll be there!

I’ve been to the Cobra Experience and it’s awesome. I’ve been looking for a good reason to go back.

A first visit to the Cobra Experience can be sensory overload. I'll work with Emily to see if we can open the 40 person theater for their custom movie of the Cobra's history. It's off the charts...

It's a spectacular museum. I was lucky enough to hear them fire up the GT40 when I was there in August.

Andy,

That was a REAL treat last August! What a fire spitting machine...

I'm planning on bringing a box of earplugs just in case Drew is up to burning some petrol again!

Bob,

Each time I see a Shelby inspired vehicle smoking it's tires, I figure Carroll is having a good chuckle...

U P D A T E:

Quite a few enthusiasts responding to the event didn't want to bother with a catered lunch - or its cost.

So we've dropped the lunch and reduced the car show (and Museum) entry price. It's back to where it's been for the past 4 years.

If you've thought about attending and those changes move the needle, we look forward to seeing you on Saturday May 12 at the Cobra Experience!
