7th Annual “Snakes at the Lake” Tahoe Cruise – Saturday June 25, 2016

With summer just over 2 short months away, it’s time to post-up notice of “Snakes at the Lake” – 2016, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 25th. As in years past, our current plan has us departing Old Town Sacramento and cruising up Highway 50 through the Sierras as we make our way to the lake. We’ll stop briefly for fuel and a rest break at the Chevron station in Meyers and stage at the golf course parking lot across the way where members from Nevada will meet us. Then we’ll head up scenic Highway 89 on the west side of the lake past Emerald Bay, the Rubicon and Sunnyside areas towards Tahoe Vista on the north shore, where we’re making arrangements again for a relaxing day enjoying a BBQ and Car Show.

RSVP’s and pre-payment are required for this event so we can anticipate required parking and determine how many meals will be needed. Please use the gofundme link below to facilitate this transaction. When your payment is confirmed, this will be noted on the roster below. After accounting for expenses, any funds left over will be donated to the Carroll Shelby Foundation http://www.cscf.org/ so any extra donations are welcomed ;-)

Cost for attending the event is:

$40 per driver/vehicle, which includes NTPUD facility rental and parking fee, BBQ lunch and cold refreshments.

$10 for each additional guest to cover BBQ lunch and cold refreshments.

We'll have approximately 65 cars out of OTS and Folsom, and join another 15 or so Nevada members in Meyers.

Concord / Cordelia - Meet Info and Locations for S.F. Bay Area Members:

I'll be at Sears Sun Valley in Concord off I-680 and Willow Pass Road at 6:00am on Saturday to meet anyone heading north from the South or East Bay. We'll leave at 6:15am sharp! Our ETA at Pittman Road in Cordelia off E/B I-80 is approximately 6:45am for anybody that wants to meet us there from the North Bay. There are several fuel stations in the immediate area at this location, including a Chevron. We'll depart at 7:00am and arrive in Old Town Sac just before 8:00am where we can grab a coffee at Steamers during registration.

RMCC members will meet this Saturday morning at Slot World Casino, 3879 Hwy 50 East, Carson City at 7:30am for an undisclosed extended cruise to Meyers.

Please arrive at Slot World with a full tank. We'll leave at 8:00am sharp!

Registration packets will be handed out in Old Town Sac starting at about 8:00am on Saturday morning.

They contain a blue ticket that gets you into the Tahoe Vista parking facility (and a raffle later in the afternoon) as well as your white lunch ticket(s).

If you're joining the conga line on Hwy 50 or meeting us in Meyers, please see me there in the golf course parking lot just after 10:00am for your packet. I'll be in the SBY Boss 302 LS.

We’ll be leaving Meyers at 10:45am sharp.

It was a beautiful day at Lake Tahoe and I got a chance to meet @byronj with his very clean 2013 PW Boss 302 and his significant other. @MonaBoss was also there with his pristine 2013 GHIG Boss 302 and @50Deep was there with his 2016 GT350. @cobrakidz and I along with several Mustang owners caught up with the conga line from Old Sac in Folsom and our next stop was at the golf course in Meyer's. While at the golf course a few people come running up to me because someone backed into my GT350! I go running over and fortunately there was only a small line in the clear bar on my front bumper and no real damage. The driver was nice enough to wait for me to inspect the car. Now my car is fully broken-in. We then headed up hwy 89 through Emerald Bay, Homewood, Tahoe City to our final destination at Tahoe Vista. Every year along the way we pass the Dubs Around The Lake crew and we waved at the 120 Volkswagens that participated this year. The food was waiting for us and we dug right into come yummy burgers. On our way home cobrakidz had the info where the Dubs were having their BBQ so we crashed the party. My first car was a VW so I have a soft spot for them.

A big thanks for Jim @CA302LS for putting on another excellent event, my favorite of the year.
