Anyone going to the COTA Grand Am races this weekend

Do you own a 302R too? ;D

It should be a fun time. I know I'll be at Laguna again this year. They do a deal where as a club we can buy two tickets, club parking, a tee shirt, some detail spray, and parade laps for a grand total of $35.

Heading out in an hour or two to make the second practice and then qualifying. Apparently, one of the Astons used the Roush #51 car to assist with their braking. Will post photos of damage in a bit. They say they will make it back on track.

Follow me at @jimmypribble for low quality pics and commentary. I will post high-res car porn in one of the two COTA Grand-Am threads later.

Have fun Jimmy, looks like Buford took the pole for the second time this season in the Aston, the two Roush cars (61,51) are the only Bosses in the top ten (7,10). Followed by Roger Miller in 13th and Rich Golinello in 15th. Lets hope the Boss can run up front as they get use to the track during the race.

Little teaser

* Braking News! *

No, I didn't spell braking wrong. I have some tidbits I got from loitering around the Boss paddocks all day long. A full write-up will come later, but I have some quick pics to drop for those of you who can be bothered to follow a real racing thread. I'll update the other relevant threads later.

I talked to the Brembo Racing guy about the brake upgrade and here is what I found out: it is a brand new caliper (not in the 2012 catalog that is online), it's advantage comes mostly from pad size and swept area, and therefore, he said that it was made to work with the 15" OR the 14" rotor. Oh, mommy. :eek:

Take note race car copycats (myself included), we were so busy looking at the Apollo Space Program gold heat shielding, that we failed to notice that the cars now run TWO of the Peterson breather cans. Well, some of the cars (at least three).

One of the Miller cars. Just a pretty picture of the fastest color. ;)

I'm lousy at live updates; I'm just too busy doing other stuff, but follow me on Twitter for maybe a couple of updates during race day tomorrow. Long write-up with photos to follow. Good luck to all of the Boss Mustang teams!

Cool video of Jack Jr during a practice lap. 8)

Surprised nobody posted the newest Boss team. These cars look cool 8) and I'm not a big fan of black cars. Wonder what Grand Am will be like when all teams wake up and switch to the Boss ?

Finally did a write-up with more photos. The days of me reposting (most) blog entries are probably over. It's not a simple cut and paste job and the new baby just takes too much time...glorious time, but time nontheless. Just visit my site (Chrome and Firefox are best) and let me know what you think either here or there. Also, I tend to only post what I feel are the best photos. If you have requests, let me know and I might have snapped something.

Hope you enjoy!

One of the crew members posts on SVTP, I guess they used to be the Subaru Road Race Team for the last two years but Subaru pulled out and all their funding went with it. Phoenix already has experience with S197s and Corvettes so the Boss seemed like a "simple" replacement.

Fixed your error Drew, must have been spellcheck.
