Are LS back seat X braces bolted or welded in?

Bolted.

5 DOT 0, you seem to be the man with all the answers? Do you know if they'll ever offer the LS rear seat delete for us non-LS guys? I've had a few nibbles from LS guys looking for back seats but nothing that's come to fruition and I'd really like to delete my rear seat.

Jason

Sorry, I was unclear. I am looking specifically for the LS cross brace and the Ford formed carpet pieces. I don't like any of the simple rear seat deletes, they just look too cheap and ill fitting.

Jason

Get someone who has an LS to order a replacement piece, if they will not sell it to you directly. The Ford dealer everyone buys parts from (name escapes me, but someone will post it up) may be able to help. It will definitely not be cheap. I actually am curious about it too.

^^^Tousley.

The X-Brace is also a standard part on the Mustang convertible, but it does not have the "MUSTANG" lettering lasered into it. So if you're talking about functionality, order that. If you just want the looks, well you'll have to probably pay extra for the LS-specific piece.

I found a thread on another forum, the user stated Tousley quoted around $2300 for the parts unpainted. I'm going to do some more research on the molded carpet pieces. The braces could be made pretty easily, it's the molded carpet that really sells this rear seat delete for me...

Jason

ArizonaGT, my thoughts exactly! But, I'd still like to kill the rear seat. I'm a sucker for a good looking unique car.

Brace is pretty simple.

I did get a kick out of Ford legal on the sticker.

ArizonaGT, Where did you see the Convertible had the same cross brace? I'm looking at the parts blow outs on New Ford Parts and can't find it...

You can see it in the exploded view, peeking out from under the rear seat cover in this Ford factory manual http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=1073&viewfile=Seat%20Backrest%20-%20Rear.pdf

Scroll down to "page" 501-10-3

I tried looking for the PN for you but was unable to locate; maybe it got replaced by part "3" in your diagram after 2011.
